when d2 came out it was 50. expansion was 30-40. pretty sure 40 well reglardless i already shared my opinion not much more to be said.
So you mean to tell me that they're going to charge you for act 4? Find me a thread please.
People have always PAID for convenience and being the first one to do/have things others don't have. If you're going to cry about that, please go live in a third world country where the next best thing is water. Its life, get over it. I also explained the beta process
When d2 came out, it was $30, which later became 20$ in stores. When the expansion hit, I bought both for 60$, the original was 20$ and the expac was 40$.
thats not at all what im saying.
just saying it seems whack to me that the minimum amount you need to pay to buy in for the expansion beta early access is 30. the original beta early access cost min of 5 dollars, i just happened to put 15 more in for support pack(liked the game so i supported it further). to me its not about the cost in itself.. its the idea of how much it has been raised between base game and expansion closed beta buy-ins.
i get it if they need more money but just weird the minimum price difference between base game beta and expansion beta.
thats all.
ive come to conclusion that seems plausable.... since steam now is getting a cut from them they would have a need to have the price be higher than when the game was not on steam. another person also mention supply and demand which this game most likely more popular since its been on steam compared to before steam
You get 250 In-Game store tokens to spend on their microtransaction store. A unqiue weapon special effect. The Digital Soundtrack and Forum Titles(the most worthless imo)... But really you're effectively only paying about 5 bucks for the beta.
250 tokens has a cost of around $25.
The weapon effect also is probably worth around $5 or $10. Same with the soundtrack.
So really, you aren't even "paying for the beta" you're buying the supporter package and getting the Beta as a bonus.
i know this(i have mentioned buying a pack before). im talkin about min buy-in. in past it was not min 30 buy-in.
you could pay the 5 or 10 dolars for a key(i think even then u got points worth the money u put in)
or you could choose higher tiers depending on how much u want to spend and what goodies you want.
regardless even if it comes with goodies and what not it is still a 30 dollar min buy-in. thats how i see it.
but this discussion has gone on for more than needed.
have a good/night
for the people who were being reasonable and/or civil about the topic kudos to you for participating in a civil discussion of opinions
And when the game first came out it was advertised as open and free. And a dev saying something is not the same as them actually doing it.
bees look at this as closed beta test for PoE expansion. it will go free. its just closed for now just like how POE originally was before going open
As much as i kinda see what you are getting at with the whole "having to pay for beta access" thing. I believe they did this so people who want to TEST the game and not play it for fun can make sure they get in and get in as soon as possible. The closed beta is for testing and the market anymore calls for spending money to do this anymore. While people to do get in for free, with the beta timer, there is no real reason to be complaining about not getting more content that is not yet released, if you really want to test the game i suggest supporting the devs and just purchasing a pack for the key.
But if youre wanting to just play the game and have fun with it, you would probably enjoy the game more once the product is actually released.
but hey that is my two cents. glhf!
The game is still ''Open and Free'', you can support the devs by buying a SUPPORT Pack
and you get a beta key when you do that, if you think that isnt worth the price then just don't buy it and get over yourself.
Heres a discussion, you're $5 gave you access to early beta of the original launch, your extra $15 was compensated with in game items.
I know people who have spent thousands on this game and still had to pay for the beta so get over it.
GGG owes you nothing, end of discussion.
Whatever you paid in the past went towards that past iteration of the game. To play the latest, you gotta pay the latest -- and only if you're impatient. Otherwise, you're going to get it for free anyway.
