So you buy cosmetics.

I posted this in another thread:

This is how you can look in the game:

A note, all this items can be found in the game. The thing that shine, and have similar effects on weapons and some armor parts can not be found and are bought from microtransaction store. But the base armor is not (in few cases they added horn and wings to helmets, but again the base helm can be found in the game, except that dude with ton of horns on his head, that helm can not be found).

The problem is, its hard to find a good item, with mods and good links/color sockets, and than at the same time the good look of the item that goes well with other items you have. It will be hard to find all things in one, as the look adds one more element that you need to look for.

There is a small skin transfer microtransaction that allows you to change the skin of any armor to any other armor, so you can make you items looks like any other item set.

I think the gear is fitting, a lot of the lower level stuff looks like cobbled together stuff or old salvaged things. Fitting, that an exile that just washed ashore would use anything they could find. Later on you start to find things that look more like standard fantasy RPG equipment as you encounter better equipped foes, etc.

Who needs pants?

I do find it pretty amusing to see my rag-clad witch running around with a pot on her head and a stick. My ranger is in act 3 now and looks like she knows what she's doing.

How else are they going to get idoits to spend $30 for digital pants?

Mate, not only is the armor ugly, everything else is ugly too, I have been killing nothing but zombies and disgusting things like cockroaches and spiders so far... I hate spiders

The game concept is brilliant, but the design is fcking ugly, also the cosmetics are too expensive.

I think it looks great considering it started as 4 man team with a home brewed engine.

Ok, but doesn't justify the price of vampire armor set. Its too expensive. I bought diablo 3 expansion for less than that.

So if want to look cooler in this game it will cost me a lot of money. That doesn't seems fair to me.

No...what justifies the cost of the cosmetics is that is the ONLY things they sell outside of stash tabs and character slots, there is no pay to win ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like exp pots or buffs, there is a decent stash to start off with(far bigger than some freemium games) they have more than 2 character slots by default(20+) and there is nothing behind paywalls....it's totaly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ free and only your vanity will cost you £$

If thats you bigest most game breaking QQ problem with the game then thats totaly down to you, absolutly not the game.

I have no problem with this game, i am saying that it's ugly, i loved the gameplay. But there are F2P games that are cheaper than Path of the Exile, i know that this is the only way that they make money, but its VERY expensive. Do you think that is ok to pay $40 to an armour skin?

League of legends sell skins for they characters, and its cheaper than Path of Exile. I am ok with the "cosmetics for a price" but they could be less expensive.

I agree the cosmetics are a bit pricy, though they do run sales. I do not see equating how folks want cheaper cosmetic upgrades, to saying the game is ugly. It looks good to me, and I see no need to make my characters have flame shooting from the top or bloody footprints. Perhpas they should sell the cosmentics cheaper, since its popular on Steam, they could make more dropping the price, if it means more will buy the stuff.
