Path of Exile or Diablo?
Which one do you prefer more?

If you asking me, i prefer Path of Exile. If Diablo was on Steam, i will definitely gonna play that game instead.

PoE. Diablos 3 i'm not spending 60+$ on just to get the full experience, not to mention from what I understand its way easier.

Grim Dawn. I've tried 5 different times now to get into PoE but the gameplay and skills feel like complete trash also why would diablo on steam make you play that instead? in any case d3 isn't worth anyone's time and d2r is too dated even with its new coat of paint. Grim Dawn is hands down the best arpg going currently

PoE > Diablo WHEN PoE has a decent league going. Otherwise Diablo 2 resurrected to scratch the itch until a good league rolls around. Diablo 3-4 = hot mobile trash.

Neither right now. Past 2 leagues have been garbage in PoE, and I refuse to play/support any game by a studio that openly supports and encourages sexist "bro culture" work environments. Grim Dawn is the top choice atm.

PoE.

I enjoyed playing D2 in my youth, and I feel like PoE is the sequel to the franchise that Blizzard never delivered. PoE consistently grabs my attention, and the League content (whether it's good or bad) keeps me coming back regularly. I feel like there's always something new to learn.

I also like trading / haggling with other players, so PoE ticks the boxes that the majority of other ARPGs fail to provide for me - namely, persistent online gameplay, and the absence of P2W.

you are mostly talking to the small amount of fanbase players who stayed behind supporting a company who dont care about them , when diablo launch, poe is gonna lose the little remaining of players

Diablo will most likely never be on Steam.
As for which game, I'm PoE all the way now. I'm finally at a point where I feel like I know what I'm doing, and I'm content. I don't like what I've seen of D4, especially the battle pass nonsense, and how it's more like the parts of D3 I disliked, than liked. I've been a huge Diablo fan since D1 came out, but I'm passing on D4 and anything Blizzard these days. Play what you want, as always.

Players can co exist at the same time. PoE will take a hit, like it does with every new release. But unless Diablo 4 is actually just the best thing ever, people will be back, especially when a new league starts.

Also, little remaining players? You are having a laugh right? It has an estimated 700k+ daily players, with 20k being on steam currently.

If you like casual gameplay -> diablo

if you like complex games -> poe

everything about diablo 3 is better than path of exile its just path of exile still has content coming out. if diablo 3 had the development level of path of exile i would never touch POE again.

it has better combat
more rewarding gameplay
not overly complex where as POE comes off as trying to add complexity for the sake of complexity.

what diablo are you asking for? immortal or 3 ?
Jarren Dec 16, 2022 @ 5:22pm
diablo 3 is a mainstream game while I see PoE as way more niche then its current player count suggests. PoE is better for anyone who falls into that niche.

for me personally, I gotta agree there is no king of the genre right now.
I recently went back to d3—which I have enjoyed in the past—and in multiple ways it feels old and dead.
PoE often feels obtuse and complex and bloated just for the sake of it rather than for any purpose. It also quickly stops being rewarding to play unless you're basically in a longterm relationship with it. It offers no middle-ground.

To me D4 is looking like a mix between lost ark and poe. I'm not touching it till reviews are out and the full monitization is revealed. If its trash, I'll keep game-hopping. if its good... well happy days

Definitely Diablo. POE developers are a bunch of kids, they do everything to scare the players away. POE is an endless nerf.

1. Diablo - The Hell
2. Diablo - The Hell 2
3. Path of Exile
couldn't get into Diablo2 despite many, many attempts since original release

PoE is a pretty hard and complex game that needs couple hundred hours till you understand the basics

Diablo 2:R / Diablo 3 are pretty easy games with almost no complexity but easy relaxed monster slaying

It completely depends what you prefer

After 1300h D3 and 650h D2 i cant imagine going back to either of them.
They are just too simple
