I'm mostly guessing, but your hard drive might be full. Many uninstalled games?

It's a known bug in both Poe1 and Poe2, mainly affecting people with AMD x3d CPUs.
I have that issue too.

There is a ton of information floating around, nobody knows for sure what exactly is the best way:
- Some people say to roll back the windows 24h2 update, since problems started with that
- Some people say that undervolting you cpu in the bios helps (from like 100% to 99%)
- Disabling the multithreading option in Poe graphics option does also apparently help (disable when you change zone, enable when in new zone to keep fps up)
- setting PoE process to not use all CPU cores at least doesn't freeze the entire pc when the bug happens. You can do that by Task Manager -> Details -> find poe process -> set affinity -> uncheck cpu cores 0 and 1. Now you can at least kill the process instead

All of these things suck, but unless Microsoft or GGG find the issue and fix it, there is nothing else we can do. I personally use the bottom two options, since i'm not fiddling around in BIOS for a random single game.
Best of luck and lets pray for a proper fix :)

Could be anything I'm sorry. You might need to reboot the pc, or reinstall the game, reinstall steam, update drivers, dust off the motherboard and reseat the cards, upgrade hardware, the list goes on :/ Best bet, dont' get fed up like I would in 0,2 seconds, and just wait until you get a new PC :)

Yeah ill give it a shot i have an i9-11900KF which yeah ive noticed seems to be affected AMD cpus more. I also had to go through hell to update 24h i bet if i roll back it will fix it but dont want to risk. Question when you say to disable multithreading option after every zone do you legit have to do it every single time?

Theoretically yes.
Every transition can cause the bug. I do forget it often too. I've noticed that loading from map into hideout is mostly fine. But otherwise, there is not really a pattern i've noticed, sadly.
As long as you also set affinity in cpu, even if the bug happens, you can still kill the poe process without your pc freezing completely. Without that, i personally would quit PoE until they fix. But that's just me ;)

Decided to get back into this game to see if I wanted to get poe2, however I'm one of those with an amd cpu. Game freezing at start is annoying, I cant even play this. I can play any other game. Guess I'll stick to GrimDawn.
