After the acts, easiest is just trade.
If you want to link yourself, eitehr crafting bench, or if you wanna do it yourself, get the item quality to 20% first
Hmm. In my ~900 hours of play, I never found a 6 link armor (usable for my character). It was much easier to farm the div cards for a Tabula Rasa in blood aqueduct.
Try to 4L a 5 socket item, get what I'm saying?
Thanks!
I was actually told so to hold on till Mapping and find the 5 link recipe and bench it on, if that's what you mean
I just got a 6 socket, and none of them linked
But Maybe yours is a good try
Rare mobs can have hidden reward modifiers, and two of those modifiers are "force max sockets" (so if it drops an item that can have 6 sockets, it will) and "force max links" (so however many sockets a drop has, they will all be linked). I don't think any single mob can have both of those, but your chances for a 5- or 6-link go way up when you only need to hit half of the RNG jackpot that you would need to get the same item from most mobs.
Also notable is the reward modifier "all sockets white". If you get a natural 6-link from a mob with that modifier, you have something better than a tabula, since it has six linked white sockets AND can have all the usual magic or rare modifiers on top of that.
You can't see the reward modifier before killing the mob, so there is no point in chasing every rare mob - some power combinations can be brutal - but if you consistently kill the ones you can, eventually you will get one with the reward modifier you want.
