How do I get the mini Map to show up?

The overlay map works, but the mini map doesnt. :( helpp

I have changed my controls ages ago and therefore I do not remember the default ones but go to Options/Input/Overlay Map an check for yourself. You can switch between the fullscreen-overlay-map and a minimap.

Ingame: Options->UI->Show Corner Map

Or editing the config directly, when the game is not running:
change
show_corner_map=false
to
show_corner_map=true
in Documents\my games\Path of Exile\production_Config.ini
