Marauder with 2h weapon and evasion or should I just go for AC?

I just started playing PoE yesterday and Im starting to realize just how much flexablity there is when it comes to character development. Im working on a marauder Im wanting to go 2hand weapon with the best chance of survivability (duh right?). How is evasion vs AC at the higher levels? Thanks!

Focus equipment on maxing elemental damage reduction and the armor rating.While evasion is viable for some marauder builds, just starting out I would highly recommend Pairing the Ground Slam gem you get as the first quest reward with a gem called Life Gain on Hit. Extrapolation on this simple setup can take you well into the game and give you time to cultivate your own build!

The PoE Wiki [pathofexile.gamepedia.com] has some build ideas you can sift through, though they haven't been updated for the new expansion since it just dropped.
