Herald of Ash Vs Herald of Ice/Thunder
I was trying to link ( curse on hit + HoA + life leech + flammability ) and it doesn't link with this setup. However if I change the herald to either ice or thunder it links perfectly. How come HoA doesn't link, is that a bug or was it intended?

Herald of Ash does not hit and therefore it cannot Curse on Hit

Herald of Ash is simply not a curse, so it doesn't work.

It wasn't intended to be a curse in the OP's description. The curse is Flammability. The idea was (apparently) that activating Herald of Ash should also automatically curse enemies with Flammability. However, as derp already explained, HoA does not hit, so it cannot trigger the curse linked to it. HoA is different from the other two Heralds in this regard. The other two deal damage themselves (so they do hit, and can trigger the curse), whereas HoA just adds to your physical damage from other sources.

Actually, HoA does work with Curse on hit, the AoE explosion after kill triggers the "hit" becaues you're hitting enemies from that initial HoA explosion.

Not really, HoA ignites the surrounding enemies but it doesn't trigger the hit you mentioned. HoT and HoI do cause aoe damage and thus spread the curse.

I was thinking the same thing at first, but when I made my setup using HoT or HoI I noticed the curse was linked unlike with HoA. I thought it was either intentional by the developers or a bug. So, when derp said

I thought it makes sense if HoA ignites enemies for damage without hitting them while HoI explode an enemy hitting nearby enemies. That somehow make sense to me.

no i tried it, realy tried it. HoA doesn`t work with curse on hit. their describtion could be more clear. you could think like this: HoA is a dot, dots don`t set triggers, just hits do.

actualy they did similiar things with auras from the get go, fire-auras behaved always different to the other two.

Damage over time effects do not hit. Therefore Burning damage does not activate anything that needs to "hit". The same goes for righteous fire, for example.
