Path of Exile

Moving PoE to SSD - how is this game saved?
Hi,

now that I have a bigger SSD, I'd like to put Path of Exile on it (it's on my HDD now). I don't think I can just copy paste it, right? But if I delete the local files and reinstall it, will the game "remember" all my saves or do I have to move them too, wherever they are? I don't think PoE has Cloud saving, at least I don't see it in the options menu...or are my saves tied to my steam account on PoE's side?
I have moved the entire Steam folder from one SSD to another one in the past, but never a single game...

Thanks!

It's an online game, almost all the information is saved on the game's servers. I think the only thing that's saved locally is an ini file with the options you selected (including remapped keys), your loot filter (if you're using one), and any screenshots you've taken. The ini file and loot filter are in Documents/My Games/ Path of Exile.
Thanks! Should I just make a copy of that folder, in case it's deleted when I uninstall PoE ("delete local content" could include that folder, I assume)? And afterwards, once I've reinstalled PoE, I move the folder back into My Games?
I don't use a loot filter, but I do have a few screenshots and remapped keys etc., it would be nice to keep those.
Usually, "delete local content" will not delete files in "My Documents". I'd keep a copy of the folder at a safe place just to be sure, though. It's also possible that Path of Exile overwrites those files during a reinstallation (not sure myself, I never uninstalled or relocated it).
Okay, I'll try that now...thanks again.
Everything works fine and I still have the same settings as before. :) Thank you, Psyringe!

If you are fit to use the windows explorer or any other file explorer for that matter:

Close steam, move the folder of PoE (SteamApps/common/Path of Exile) into the according new folder, then move the manifest file SteamApps/appmanifest_238960.acf to the new location as well (keeping the folder structure, obviously).

That way you shouldn't need to redownload or use the slow backup feature or even uninstall. Worked for me about a year ago.
Thanks! I completed the uninstall and reinstall before you wrote your post though, so I couldn't try it. However, it's good to know for other games as well!
I know, this topic is pretty old, still I would like to share some piece of advice as well. Actually steam itself provides way to move installed games from disk to disk and rather easy way.
You need open your steam, go to the library, select a game that you would like to move, right click on it, then select "properties", on properties tab select "local files". At the bottom you will see option "move install folder". By this option you can move your game to any other steam folder.

Seems to have been added early 2017, while the methods here were posted mid to late 2015.
