It's better to first decide on a playstyle that you want, and then choose one of the character classes that supports that playstyle.
So, Summoners are generally a PVE skill, because of the damage output, but not the damage mitigation, Witches in general have low defences (despite EB/MOM) so you're most likely better off going as Templar and grabbing the life nodes available there, you will still be able to take the Witch nodes because, Templar is close to the witch :)

Thats a general templar summoner tree, theres some life there, a fair bit of mana, enough to use MoM (if you want, thats why i left it out) and you got plenty of summoner damage :)
