Assigning the right button for movement
I started playing just recently, and the game seems pretty good. Now, one complaint I have is that there isn't an option to assign the right button for movement. As I play a lot of DotA and LoL, I'm more used to have the right button assigned for movement, and every other ARPG I played allowed me to change that.

Of course I can always activate the left-hand mode on Windows if that's bothering me, but an option to assign movement to another button inside the game wouldn't hurt.

Click the spell icon that your right click is assigning, and change it to the feet icon instead, then you'll only move using that button.

As Loco said, this is already in the game.

to much time whining rather than searching and finding it's already there...fail

Fail, is not controlling the character the traditional Diablo way imo.

What the OP is requesting is actually not in the game. As a workaround; changing the right mouse button to movement only also disables skill use with that button.

One button always has to be for movement. No loss of skill slots.

Incorrect.
By default, you are able to assign an attack skill to both L and R mouse buttons. If you have an attack skill on the left mouse button you are still able to move by clicking the ground.
This does not work on reversal, which is why "movement only" would have to be assigned to the right mouse button...therefore losing an attack skill slot using the mouse.

I'm more and more with the OP on this one the more that I think of it.

What would be nice is if there was an option for the right mouse button to function exactly like the current left button. (movement + skill usage)

Actually, it does. Even if you bind an attack skill to the hotkeys, it will still move your character if you hold it down, exactly the same as the mouse behaviour.

Hell, you can rebind Q or E to mouse button 8 and assign that to movement if you wanna be a complete madman!

Alright I figured it out.
What is actually going on is that the mouse click movement is disabled using the right mouse button *while in town* with a skill other than move only equipped.
Another factor is that certain skills that have a cooldown don't allow movement using the right button.
So it still remains that it would be nice if there was an option for the right mouse button to function exactly like the left mouse button.

I use spacebar for force move, LMB for movement skill like whirling blades and RMB for main skill

i normally go with W as my move button. Q for warcry. Left for attack. Right for movement with skill like leap slam or flame dash.

i don't really understand the problem here i guess. just assign the stuff where you want it.

Mr. solemnpsalms got the idea. If I use the "footprint skill" on the right button and the basic attack on the left button, I end up with two buttons for movement, and also lose one shortcut. The ideal would be to allow the player to choose which button is for movement.
The thing is, it's not a problem per se... I really liked the game and intend to play more of it, I was only suggesting a minor feature that I would be good for me. If it's not good for other players, than to hell with it.

The movement issue has been my main factor in not playing the game. I've installed it a couple of times, but it takes very little time for me to quit, spend a couple weeks telling myself I'll try it again, and then just deciding to delete it and play something else. I'd really like to play it, but not until I see a good change to the movement issue.

What could possibly be hard to fix about this for the developers? The way the left mouse button works is perfect, I want that functionallity on the right mouse button without having to tell my computer I have a backwards mouse. They are backwards, not my mouse, also, who cares if I was the one that was "wrong". What is hard to give me the choice? What year is it?

Its 2018, this thread is from 2015, you're 3 years late, you can assign a move only key already to everything...
