Error "failed to initialise"

The title says it all, my game won't launch, when I try it says "Failed to initialise"... Already uninstalled and reinstalled it, doesn't change anything :)
Please help !

Hey there,

This is usually related to the language profile of your keyboard.
Switching it to US/UK English, removing the other language profile then adding it again should fix this crash.

If that doesn't help, can you please try 'Verifying Game Cache' and letting us know where this error message occurs?

Hi all,

I now have the same Problem, error occurs directly after the steam "Path of Exile is being started" window. Path of Exile doesnt start at all it seems. I have played PoE fine on this Computer a few weeks ago.

So far i have tried:
- Checking local files
- Changing locale from DE to EN, removing DE, reinstalling DE like you discribed
- installed latest catalyst "omega" driver
- installed directx from the por directory
- reinstallel PoE

System is Win8.1 x64, AMD HD7870, Corei5

Just to confirm, did you use Steam's verification tool via right-clicking Path of Exile and selecting Properties > Local Files > Verifying Integrity of Game Cache? Note that if you normally run Path of Exile through Steam then the Pack Check tool will not help here. If you are still experiencing issues here you may need to contact us at [e-mail] so we can address and resolve this issue.

Strangely, i fixed the problem by enabling "Windows Firewall" in Task Manager->services (MpsSvc)

problem solved itself by updating to win10 for me in the end.

Enablind service "Windows Firewall" solved problem for me. :) Disabled it before the game, and it couldn't initlialise. :v
