Cant enter the game

came back after like 7 months, whenever i try to select a character, it stucks into loading. then can't even open task manager, it overlays over everything else. and then i must restart the PC. happens every time i try to open poe ( iirc this is the first time i try to open the game since i installed it into my new external SSD, before that always had it on regular harddrive)
