If every item is useful then loot doesn't matter. To make loot matter you need that nugget that makes you go "Wow!" when it drops ad D4 kinda lacks that.
That said if you have fun in D4, play D4, simple as that.
When you drop an unique item in PoE it should encourage you to figure out a build that uises that item, unless it is something generic likle a goldrim (https://pathofexile.fandom.com/wiki/Goldrim) that is pretty much a best in slot leveling item.
PoE is also heavily balanced towards trading and crafting unlike Diablo 4. Not all gfames need to do things the same way and different ways can be good.
Diablo 4 is sure tailored fopr casual play and you will always find loot tailored to your class while PoE will be a more one man's trash is another man treasure kind of gameplay.
man 99% all unique items in PoE are ♥♥♥♥ that costst 1 c
If your profile wasn't private I could see your progress in PoE, but your hiding it and posting garbage so I will take it as you never passed act 3 and that's why you find garbage,
Unique items are hardly the only thing that drops and teh 1% that is expensive is actually a wow! drop.
Theres also a tn of 1c uniques that will just allow you to make fun builds.
Rare enemies could randomly spawn with the reflect mod and volatility meant instant explosion on death. Scary times.
I enjoyed the game back then, but its a million times better now imo.
The fact PoE has only grown in popularity since then reflects this.
This game is lucky to hit 7000 peak players a day. A challenge league would have went a long way to stop the bleeding but no.. GGG has once again gone silent on us while they beg for MTX sales. This is the first time i just shut the game off and stopped playing. Playing it feels pointless and grinding for nothing. With poor trading and greedy traders and price fixers waiting to sell you stuff that you don't need. Unless you are into a currency stacking competition with no real point but an endless grind and a stress fest the entire way, I would just skip it.
Meanwhile Asheron's call a game from 1998 makes a come back , it actually tore me away from Poe. Look on ytube for how to install Asheron's call. having a blast. Many servers. Top server has a constant 900+ players and growing. Free. The players are nice to each other also.
This league was a total filler and it's been going for 3 months and the next is almost a month away. It's a miracle so many people are still playing it.

You start a new league, play a new build you never played before, complete 40/40 challenges, try new atlas strats, and do this within 1 or 2 months. Quit for 1 or 2 months.
This is how the game is designed. Chris Wilson said it himself. GGG is looking for looooong term player retention. This is accomplished by giving players a break from the game so they can return feeling fresh.
Back in the day, Diablo 2 did this strategy with ladders and ladder resets every few years.
GGG took it to the next level and reset 4 times a year + game changing league themes.
Its no coincidence that D3 started doing the same and Diablo 4 is built around this this idea. Last Epoch, NRFTW, and even WoW now do the same.
You are currently looking at PoE at the end of its current league. The end of this month a new league will be out.
PS. No I will not be looking into Asheron's Call. I know what that game is, I played it during its prime. Didn't like it then, definitely not going to like it now.
Not sure I follow your logic but i wont be here, I'm already gone. I have skipped it. Unless ggg starts treating it's players like humans and not like punching bags, I don't see me coming back. You see I have rediscovered a game that works in the opposite fashion. Everything is geared toward the player doing well. Every person helps others players, in fact you get rewarded for helping other players. So play POE if you like being abused. I'm not, and I know you don't care if I do or don't. Poe at this point is nothing but a over glorified bullet hell game with harsher penalties. Have fun with your pointless grind.
