Neversink not working
Downloaded Neversink filters. Placed in Steam POE folder and the my documents folder. Filter extensions are in lower case. Have exited and reloaded game (several times). Not showing up in filter options when I log in a character.
Any useful advice will be most welcome.

You're not supposed to go to the PoE website from inside Steam. You simply are supposed to be logged into Steam in your browser and then when you are on the login screen on the PoE website you simply hit the 'login via Steam' button below the 2 boxes where you would usually put in your account data and then it opens up a Steam website where you simpl yhave to accept giving the PoE website your Steam account identifier and then you're already logged in on the PoE website.

Go to this website:
https://www.pathofexile.com/item-filter/ladder/follower
Login with your Steam account and just click on the filters you want and hit the follow button. Then they will show up in the setting when you play your account and it even automatically updates whenever there's an update available for the loot filter, so you never again have to worry about getting a new loot filter.

Yes, I know the page, but how the heck do I access it with my Steam account? The POE page wants my email and password and won't accept my Steam login. I've already activated that page with my POE account.
Maybe I should just not use Steam at all and play without it?

Well, usually when you try to login it offers the option to login with your Steam account (or some other accounts) and then it links you to a Steam website where you can accept using your Steam account to login on the poe website. I don't know what could go wrong with it. And well, I have no idea about how it would be if you play outside of Steam with your Steam account.

Weird, i can download a filter on their page without giving them any account at all.

Not sure why would anyone give their POE account on a random website, i personally wouldn't.

https://www.filterblade.xyz/

There is a small button under save and export called continue without saving, you can then download your filter directly.

Edit: you only need the file in document/games/Path of exile.

That's my problem. I can log into the game from Steam, but it doesn't recognize that I have any filters at all, much less one selected.
I'm going to just reinstall the game with my regular POE account and not use Steam since everything I've seen online (and tried) didn't work.

Why is giving the offocial PoE website the data of your PoE account equal to giving your PoE account data to a random website?

And downloading a filter has the disadvantage that you need to redownload it whenever there is a new version of it, subscribing to it permanently adds the filter to your account.

I wasn't talking about the poe website, But about the different filters you can find on the web. My apologies for not being clear/specific with my comment.

Finally got it to work, but only with the filters I downloaded myself. The auto-update from the PoE website still isn't connecting. Oh well, manual is OK. Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

Try a different browser, if you want to be logged in to both accounts at once.

To view the filters you are subscribed to, you have to login inside the game. They won't show up right away when the game starts

you should use steam mobile authenticator , that way all you have to do is scan the square bar code on the path of exile website with your phone (via steam app) = instant login, not having to faf around with passwords and whatever,

IMPORTANT:
You have to make sure that, inside your path of exile account that you have linked your steam account, otherwise it will not recognise anything to do with steam.

for loot filters i normally just save the file to pc then throw it in "C:\Users\yourname\Documents\My Games\Path of Exile\str.filter"
simple as that.

***Does not go in steam folder, goes in my documents folder as shown above***
