That is my problem.
I have to restart the OS when this happens.
So, it's a game problem, right?
https://www.reddit.com/r/pathofexile/comments/4af4mt/memory_leak/d0zyprz
Even after the game closed, it keeps using a lot of RAM.
So, i am having to restart the OS.
I have to say this, that is a shame. They have to do something about it fast!
It's a windows 10 problem, not a game one, it's called superfetch
Which keeps often used stuff in the ram to speed loading
http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1619499
This thread includes a link on how to disable the feature
I did the changes, but when i was looking for the "Superfetch" service on the list, to desable it, i realized that this was already deactivated. T_T
So what now?
Is this a real problem of Windows 10? Maybe it's just the game...
...you know... it doesn't seem a Windows 10 problem to me, since i never had this issue before, and some people on reddit are confirming this too, that started after 2.2.0 patch...
GGG said a while ago that they're working to address this RAM usage issue (exceeding the 4 gig requirement) but besides that, they haven't yet made another public announcement regarding the issue.
I'd ask you to play the game for say 30 minutes then tab out and take a screen shot of the task manager with the processes tab. (make sure to click "show all processes for all users")
I'd expect the game to be sitting at around 3 gig
I'm asking this because i've seen a few pics already of PoE taking up a normal amount of ram and people complaing about it as a memory leak, when it's something else which may or may not show on the pic
look last post

Totaly unrelated problem and that was fixed anyway
this you cant fix sadly but only GGG can.
last patch all ready did improve alot for me and i did play today without suffer the memory leak at all.
Disabling superfetch does not fix the memory leak.
Path of Exile is as of right now, incompatible with the way Windows 10 handles memory.
The longer you have the game open the more memory it uses, eventually causing an error stating Path of Exile is using too much memory.
The only way to reclaim memory is to restart Windows.
On game session the memory occupied slowly increment . Not have superfetch active.
With Rammap have see that 3,5 Gb of memory (after 3-4 hours of game) is classified "Session Private" and only way to free this memory is to reboot system or logout windows account and login.
Clear the standby memory not resolve the problem because the standby memory is the cache that windows free automatically if free memory become zero.
The problem is Session Private Memory that is active memory. No file are stored in this memory (Rammap not report any file in this type of memory)
No other games have this effect on my system.
I have 16Gb ram and i tollerate this for 2 or 3 day.
I hope that GGG team fix this problem.
Sorry for bad english
