Damage calculation of traps, mines and minions.
I want to make a scion which uses either traps, mines or minions, but in order to plan ahead i need know where they get their damage from. Are they affected by weapon damage? or do they just have a set value and only get affected by their respective passive skills?

First to get it out of the way, most minions trap and mines skills can be supported by support gems if they fit the tag and the delivery method (like a minion hitting with a melee attack will benefit from multistrike and melee splash, a bow minion will benefit from projectile support gems, summon raging spirit deal fire attack damages, so they can be supported by fire penetration and the like, freezing mine can be supported by cold penetration etc.). For minions, auras work since minions are allies.

Now, the passive tree and item mods. For minions it's easy, if it doesn't say MINION, it doesn't affect them, you can forget anything like weapon damage, crit strike, life etc.
For traps and mines, it's kind of the same as totems. They're your skills, so they're affected by your nodes (even crit ones) IF they fit the tag, like ice trap can be enhanced by cold nodes, aoe nodes, duration nodes, trap nodes and spell damage nodes (note that not all traps and mines are spells, so they don't all benefit from spell damage, same as totems). For bow trap skills (when you link a trap support gem with a bow skill, like puncture trap build), they are also affected by your bow and quiver (and your bow and projectile nodes), note that you are required to use a bow for bow trap builds.

I believe that covers it.
