How do you understand the MTX sharing with PoE 2?
"Purchases are shared between the two games." Is the official statement.
But as I understand it, PoE 2 will have different classes and skills. Do you guys know what MTX are likely to be shared and what are not?

They've already explained this.

1. There are no 'class specific' MTX in POE.

2. Almost everything will transfer over - some things may not like the effects for a specific gem if that gem isn't incorporated into POE2.

They explained that already. You basically get all the mtx you buy on PoE 1 when you log in PoE 2. The reverse is true aswell.
The only exception is for very specific content that exists in one game and doesn't in the other. A dev took the example of a potential bear form skin in PoE 2. If you buy it, since there's no bear form in PoE 1, you'll only have it in PoE 2.

I guess my question revolves around those exceptions. I wonder what stuff from PoE 1 won’t transfer in PoE 2.

Generally the MTX are independent of the character. This means they made a separate mesh for each character so they can all wear the MTX and not look too goofy doing so.

My expectation is that part of the dev cycle included adjusting existing MTX so they fit the new character frames, likely with an update so they fit the new graphics as well.
This may sound like a lot of work, but it also doubles as extra cash because this means the same MTX can now be sold to new players in PoE 2.

Going forward we might see the same MTX go live in both games.

I pity the animator who'll have to adjust poe 2 attack/movement animations to the 500 dollars armour that lets you fly haha
