Higher tier maps (T7-12) aren't too much harder. You just have to look at the modifiers you've rolled on the map and see if there's something that will severely hurt your build.
You can also buy less perfect items. For example, instead of looking for a perfect Helmet with all the things you want, look for a lower tier base with slightly worse stats. The price can go from 10+ Divines to 1-10 chaos, depending on what you want.
You can also buy a basic 6-link chest for cheap, and use an Essence on it. This allows you to guarantee life, resistances or stats.
WOW thanks, lots good info here I didnt know !!!!!
Q: What do you do if the map has mods that will kill you fast Can u fix the map ?
Didnt think about basic 6-link chest for cheap and crafting. Crafting seem so overwhelming every time I try watch a video about it
To be honest I wasn't reading what mods the map had just kept running them
I play SSF exclusively, and don't use build guides that require uniques. I get past tier 6 no problem, because I try to understand how my build works, and maximize for it. I've noticed for a while a lot of build guides are set up to sell you uniques the person who published it can farm and sell you for extortionate prices a while ago.
I would bet, if you posted a PoB here of your current character, that people here could help you tweak it to get to bosses, without having to buy uniques and BiS everything.
And, are you sure you're playing the build correctly?
You can roll pretty much anything in PoE. Map rolling at your level is just ordinary orbs, and if needed, using an orb of cleansing to "wipe" the map to white with no modifiers, and then use an Orb of Chance to upgrade it to a blue map, and then an Orb of Alchemy to "roll" the modifiers. (don't wast expensive currency on low level maps.)
You can't roll a map if it's corrupted, or a Kirak map.
The game gives you most of the information you need to know - if you know where to look. I'm still a newb at under 1000 hours, but this last couple of seasons I put aside getting to bosses, and just work on learning more.
For crafting, go watch Zizaran's streams on it on YouTube or Twitch. He's good at breaking it down for newer players. You need to get a hang of it to last long in PoE, it's pretty important. It can be random, or it can be (somewhat) deterministic, and there are multiple ways to craft. Start with the easy stuff, like rolling stats on magic gear and maps, save the better currency for the better gear later on.
Also, learn what base stat you're aiming for on gear. Each base has an "implicit" - or a stat that can't be changed by crafting, like dex, or spell damage on a wand. Then start looking for bases to craft upon - and as your character progresses, there are tiers of base items, according to item level. Say you find a helmet of the base you want, but the prefixes and suffixes are bad for your build - then just use an orb of scouring, reset it to white with no mods, and start over. (Essences are really, really good here.)
I'll stop there, because it's a lot to take in. Start with the basics - when you look at the tool tip of an item - what do all the stats mean? What is an implicit, what is a suffix, and what is a Prefix? What does corrupted mean? How do I change those? What stats does my build need? How do I get those?
Legacy of Fury - applies a significant debuff and lots of boom booms. great for mapping.
a helm with at least 1 support mod on it for your RF. You can get 2 support mods with decent other mods for around 15-30 chaos if you want to shell out a bit more. In my case, this upgrade with 2 support mods from my old helm which was purely defensive resulted in dps going from 77k to 119k. For reference, i did the atlas while still below 60k dps and without those boots either, using SSF stuff.
Profane proxy (on left side, aka chilling skitterbot) with flammability curse - tbh its mostly QoL at the start, but chances are this is part of your build anyway. You can zoom in on the skitterbots and see they look different, so its easy to confirm which one is which.
a 5 or 6 link armor, or even something like Doppelgänger Guise (another slightly more expensive low budget piece). You can even use a random high armor chest piece with all the wrong stuff for sockets and just craft it for health or resist. This will get you through the atlas.
any 2nd ring/gloves/amulet with health and resists to cap you out.
avoid 'less regeneration' maps. Most of the time the rest doesn't matter. Don't be afraid to diverge on the passive skill tree either. I'm using stun immunity and immuty to corrupt blood because I only needed 2 points to get them and those both were causing me a lot of problems. You can always fix it later when those things are not an issue for you anymore.
https://www.pohx.net/ for more info on rf and builds, this guy is RF GOD
As I said i got to red maps then spent like 15 chaos on legacy of fury boots before i had to start upgrading my gear gems enchants :)
