Like avoiding main skills that you played before, or don't want minion, etc etc
I avoid replay a skill gem as I think the main fun of the game, is to try different thing.
It also keep the gameplay feeling fresh.
After the patch notes release, some gems will get buff/nerf.
Then, choose a skill gem that you never played before, yet it is not handicapped by the patch.
Example of Sanctum league few days before launch, I theorycrafted hexblast mine with occultist.
POB is not updated at that time, so I use calculator to emulate the hex blast changes.
I enjoy the build a lot, but I also noticed "spell" always played better than "attack" during league start.
Crucible league I planned Venom Gyre, I just understand how the skill gem functioned few weeks ago. If the patch notes don't do any harm to this, or distract me toward other builds.
You can slightly lower the investment of defense and shift it toward DPS.
Let say, maybe 70k EHP enough
i tried poison venom gyre tihs league and i failed soooo hard, i heard ele venom gyre is viable, are you planning go ele or poison?
I don't often play Ranger due to their squishyness.
So this time I going try to make it good. It is also something I never played before.
I am thinking shall I go for Iron Reflex or not.
If yes, then my passive is harder to stretch Shadow area crit and claw
