Just give the game some time, surely you will find something that makes you have fun, or not.
Hardcore doesn’t make the game harder, it just means you have to be more careful. The difficulty is the same except you just have the one life.
I also see you’re still in act2, which would explain a lot as to why you find the game easy. When you make it halfway through the campaign you will notice an increase in difficulty. The campaign gets progressively difficult and while you have spent a lot of time completing first act I would try and get to at least act 5 if you can.
I've not used the vendors yet cause atleast in the rpgs I played they tend to give worse loot than actual missions, I'll try to stick to the game ATLEAST until act 5 and see if my opinions change, thank you so much
Thanks, I'll try to find some boots that can give me movement speed then!
There are many paths available, but it's mostly about killing everything in your way at high speed.
You may choose "Path of Exit" and try another game, after you have reviewed all features of the game and still not happy with them.
1- Get a loot filter. You quickly start getting too much loot in this game and it slows you done. Getting a loot filter will help you get further in the game faster.
2- If it's your first time playing, I recommend ignoring the story. Once again, it'll help you get further in the game faster. If the story interests you you can check it out on another character once you've found what you like about the game.
3- Reach act 6, it'll give you a better idea of how the game feels. Act 1 to 5 are basically a tutorial, Act 6 to 10 is where the game begins, and post act 10 is where the real game begins.
4- If you're still in the game after all that, get stash tabs while they're on sale. Managing loot without tabs is hell. Getting at least the currency tab (and map tabs post story) will make the game a lot less tedious.
This is how I managed to get through the acts the first time, and now I can't get enough of this game
The campaign is a slog though, perhaps thats due to how many times ive done it, specifically act 1-3 due to the amount of time I played this game in its early life.
Since you are new you likely dont get when you can branch off and do other content to progress, though I 100% suggest racing through the storyline, you can look up side quests for skill points (or regret books) after the fact.
When I play a new season, i really dont stack gear, unless its for new characters always like some options for early game when the struggle can be real based on build. Other than that you can make gear, get it via content other than farming, or crafting....so dont think your act 5 yellow is worth saving. In fact this game is sorta unique where you are better off picking up items that can be sold to vendors for orbs (like having links on gear one of each color for a chromatic orb) and white gear with links...though making links is easy and you can just buy a 6 link. When I was newer I would keep everything. I have 30 blank stash tabs and just about every specific item type tab. I use only maybe 3 blank stash tabs per season now, with currency, maps, and essence being the other tabs i use most. Basically dont be like me and buy a ton of tabs due to hording then learn you dont need to horde anything other than currency really...and maybe maps for a bit.
How I have fun? Well I really enjoy struggling with a build then watching it become great, then clearing some maps and delve. I dont really boss, as most were added later on in the games life and its just not how ive played the game. I dont really group up. I like to farm currency, make gear, and flesh out a build. Ive been playing this game since the endboss was the fire witch on the beach, so im more waiting for POE 2 as ive just spent so much time in this game over the years, even well before it was on steam. I also like following build guides then tweaking them based how I like the play. Progression is POE is fantastic IMO.
This was such helpful input, thank you so much!
