Left-click
so... i'm a hermit SSF "casual" so had been playing solo "in a cocoon" with chat disabled. i did quickly learn early on that ppl would assign move on left-click, but by then i was used to my own setup so i haven't switched.

what's the rationale here? i get that sometimes u get stuck attacking when u really wanna get away but with movement skills i dun get into those mess often enough to bother switching. is that the only reason ppl do it though? is there no one else left-clicking to attack?

Movement skills can be on cooldown, and dying will cost you a lot of Exp at higher levels, so players usually want to avoid getting stuck because your character is attacking rather than moving.

In addition, you can set defensive skill (Molten Shell, Steel Skin etc., anything without a cast/action time) to left click as well to move and keep your defense on cooldown at the same time.

you already move with left click by default, in pretty much every similar game, so its easier to do this, and you can just put a skill there like molten shell to trigger while youre just moving around

When trying to avoid an attack or some sort of ground effect you don't want to click on a mob by accident causing you to stop and use your left click ability when trying to move. Molten shell on left click is such a softcore thing, I don't recommend doing that.

right. seems like not wanting to blunder into damage is the reason for this practice. thanks all!

TBH its a waste of a click to just move. Click once to move or click once to move and apply a buff. As has already been said adding a skill like steel skin cost nothing (as long as you have a gem slot free) but can save you a death which matters at higher levels.

So what do you do when you get hit after a guard skill goes on cooldown? Putting it on left click creates that scenario.

i think the ideal thing would to be have keyboard movement options.

Left clicking to attack is suicide

I put move on left click because I don't want my character to stop and attack when there's a room full of things shooting at me. If I want my character to stop and attack, I will press the button that attacks.

I mean, that's going to happen inevitably whether your guard skill is on your left mouse or not. Binding it to left mouse gives you one less button to press and gives you pretty much maximum uptime since you're almost always moving.

i cant pass Hillock with attack binded to Left Click, but you can play how you want ) bindin move or guard skill to this button is not mandatory

this. in my case my left click is my primary attack, guard skill is always mouse 5, movement skill is scroll button. i'm not used to other setups.
