kinda hard to move the way i want , when missing a click on a foe makes me move towards them, and both targeting and movement are mouse based.

Dont put your attack in the left click slot, put in in the right slot and pick the move only action for the left click, everything should be fine.

still gotta move the mouse wayyyyy faser than is practical for me, aside from the complete lack of wasd keys this game is perfection, but if i can't play my way, than i shan't play at all.

WASD movement would simply not work as good as with mouse. Just as an example of why: since you can't move the camera, the angles would be really limited.

I have it set to use my letter D to move, you can set a letter of your choice can be any ltter just go to options but a wasd approach i dont think its possible since you move towards the cursor and i doubt that its going to be changed.

Wasd would be the bad control. It doesn't work. End of story.

WASD in a arpg game is really bad idea. It doesn't make your actions faster, quite the opposite. Precision is more important especially with fast action/movement/targeting. Like others here have suggested it's more convinient to use shift+click. Also, you have the option to map some of the actions to hotkeys and I strongly recommend this if you play other than melee character. At least for me it helped to speed up things and improve casting and ranged attacks.

I'm not very quick player either, but as a D2 veteran I noticed that playing PoE in fullscreen makes it really hard to do stuff in a quick enough manner, even if you adjust your mouse sensitivity to max. This of course is dependent on your screen size and resolution.

My suggestion is to play in windowed mode, so you don't have to move your mouse so much and also adjust your mouse sensitivity.

I haven't seen any D2-like games that use WASD and I think it just makes things harder than it should be. If this is your first time with these kinds of games I hope you don't give up because of the controls. It takes time to get used to.

It will never be added as a built in option. Much like Mortal Kombat/Streetfighter will never add 100% mouse support. =P

Unless you are suffering from some form of disability, mouse+keyboard is the most practical way to play this game. Whether you think so or not.
Learning to get comfortable with it would be in your best interest if you truly like this game.

But if you are incapable of using a mouse efficiently, maybe try a program called Auto Hotkey (AHK).
AHK is a pretty advanced and amazing macro program. Not so easy to use at first because It requires you to make scripts. But people have been using it in this game for years.
/oos (Type that in to sync back to server) macros were very popular back when this game had terrible desync problems and people still use it to calculate item DPS or price check with a single hotkey. So I highly doubt its a bannable offense program. (I still use it)

I wont write you a scrip, mostly because its already been done many times. But you can try googling "ahk 360 controller mouse" or "Path of Exile controller" and find what others have done.

i am quite good at using wasd keys for precise movement, you should see me play in dream of mirror online, also i DID say it should be an OPTION not the defualt setting. so if you guys like it the way it is, then just don't click it in the options. and if more come along who like the WASD keys you guys can tell them you check the options for it. having different control schemes as OPTIONS hurts absolutely nobody, and helps QUITE a few people. the control scheme on here is clunky to me, so i can't really play even 1/20th as well as i could otherwise. and i am NOT going to make a melee, just to stand a chance on here.
