Stuck farming for maps, advice please
As of title, I'm lv 85 now and constantly farming for maps. They never seem to drop and, when they do, they are way lower than my level, from T1 to T5. Only rarely I seem to drop an higher tier, but never ever higher than T7.

I thought that I had to complete every bonus objective because, in the Atlas, it says that that would raise my chances - but after completing 51 bonus objectives the ones I miss from the lower tiers never seem to drop and the others are behind that T7 wall. Only on very, very rare occasions I drop a T8, complete it, back to T7.

I'm also using an alchemy orb on every T7 map to increase my chances of dropping one. After doing this for days with no progress, I'm starting to get bored and might soon drop the game because of it.

Could you please guide me on the right path in case I did something wrong? I don't mind farming a bit, I just want to see some progress, which I hadn't in days now.

I might trade for them, but 1) I don't own trading tabs and 2) feels like cheating the progression.

wait to you hit lvl 90 and above, dont know why the deffs do that like this with the low droprate, but i think they only want people stay very long ingame with that method.

Buying from other players is fastest way to complete your atlas unfortunately. Once you are done with this and getting more % completion you can start shaping/sextant or focus on maps you want to run.

If you dont want to trade you can buy maps from zana (not recommended as she sells low level-mid level maps only) or run uberlab. The chests at the end can drop mostly any map that you may or may not have complete.

what helped me from t1-t9 was to complete every map on one tier before moving on to the next one. rarely it helps to rush fast through the tiers

also completing the atlas bonus dont drop more maps, it just change the tiers, eg a tier 2 would drop on a boss, instead a t3 will drop. and so one

map drops are not a problem and getting all maps is not that hard. the problem comes when you want to sustain certain maps

also pls show proof that map drops are affected by player level. the only thing I know is that currency and div cards are affected when farming a9 or below content. every area which is above lvl 66 has no drop penality https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Drop_rate#Drop_Penalty

Well I wouldn't call "stuck in T7 for days" "rushing through the maps".

Which is exactly why I was expecting higher tiered maps, but that didn't happen. I nowhere said I was expecting *more* maps.

Thanks. I was buying from Zana to complete the bonus objectives, but she only sells me maps up to lv 7 and I completed so many of them that it's really rare I drop one that I haven't already.

I'm trying to level her up, but she's so incredibly slow. It might just be me not having the time this game asks out of me.

A map you don't have on the Atlas can only drop if you are in a map that is directly adjacent to it on the Atlas.

This is some great piece of advice, that would explain why I'm missing the most maps on only one corner of the map. Thanks a lot, I'll try farming the maps on that side I currently own.

I've heard this before and it doesn't seem to be true from my testing. I've literally run hundreds of maps next to ones I did not have and have never gotten one of the ones I needed; and then I run one somewhere else and get one I needed that was on the other side of the atlas.

From what I've seen over multiple leagues, is that you seem to have certain maps that drop for you. You might get 20+ of one map and dont get another in the same tier until out of the blue you finally get it - and then surprise! Now that map you needed drops all the time after you finally run it.

The above also is true if you buy a map from another player. Never get Volcano? Buy one and complete it, and you'll start seeing them often.

Things you can do :

- trade up maps; 3x any map = map of next tier
- alch every map, and increase quantity through cartographers/fragments
- use sextants which can increase quant or give mods like 'extra map drops'
- wear quantity gear
- trade for them

Only other thing I can say is stick with it. I've gone days without a new map, and then play one map and get 3 I needed magically almost.

Yeah, I magically dropped a single, T9 map. I'm so excited. The game is giving me a single run on a slightly higher level map. Yey!

You are mistaken. You can read the rules right here:

https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1714099

The relevant part is:

The new rule is that the maps that can drop are from the following groups:
- Maps you've previously completed in this league (including on other characters).
- Maps that are connected to the one you're playing on the Atlas.
- Tier 1 maps.

Those are the rules and they have not changed since the Atlas was added to the game.

The only time an unconnected and previously uncompleted map can drop is if it is a tier 1 map.

Combining three maps at the vendor upgrades to a specific map from the next tier up, connected via the Atlas. Corrupting a map will upgrade to a connected higher-level map also. If there are several connected ones to pick from, one is randomly chosen as a corruption outcome.

I knew of the three-of-a-kind trade, but I didn't know of the corruption trick. I still have that T9 map, I might corrupt it and get a T10 then...

why not trade 9 T5 for 1 T7? Or even more. You can trade in everything that is too low Tier for you.

You're supposing that I own nine T5 maps with equal name.
