currupted gem

i just bought a empowered support gem that was currupted and has no stats on it , is it useless? i traded for 3 chaos i did not know it cant be changed i guess? help what do i do

Also Corrupted items Cannot be modified (no extra slots from jeweler orb, link orb, orb of augmentation, etc.)

you can still level it up you just wont be able to add quality to it

but it shows no stats at all iam a getting use out of it or just when it hits lvl 2? just says currupted

Empower is a support gem that increases the gem level of supported active skill gems. Empower doesn't have any effect at level one, and although the table below shows the effect of the gem up to level 10, it can only reach level 3 through regular experience gain. Its level cap can be exceeded the same way as other gems.

ty i read not sure i really understand it but i am guesing i use it til it lvls to 2 then i get stats ? only up to lvl 3

Basically it increases the power of other Linked active skills
+(0-2) to Level of Supported Active Skill Gems
Example. Frost Nova lv 1. With Empower Lv 3, Frost nova will be +2 levels.
Just like you get from items that say for example, +2 levels To Minion Skill Gems, or +2 levels to Fire Skill gems. Only works on skills that you can use, not other support skills, based on the site.

If Empower is Lv 1, it will give +0 levels to liked active skills

Well, you shouldn't level up an empower/enhance/enlighten gem unless it's uncorrupted. Once you max it out at level 3 you have a chance to upgrade it to a level 4... so in a sense you kinda did get scammed... since a level 1 corrupted empower gem is essentially worthless.
