Chaos Resistance needed...what are my options?
I'm going to be blunt: I'm a level 70 Marauder (Heavy in life leech and area damage) that has had no real problem up until now. I'm in Act 3 Merciless and the chaos enemies (As well as act 2's boss) are kicking my ass hardcore with their chaos element attacks.

The problem is, I'm nowhere near the chaos nodes in the tree and cannot respec to get there.

So what are my other options to get that -60% chaos resistance up to, I don't know...maybe at least 0%? I never find any items with chaos resistance. I am not sure if you can create them somehow either. Is there any way to efficiently and quickly get some chaos res items?

Getting chaos res from the tree is not very practical as you have noticed. You will start to see it more often on gear obtained in higher lvl maps. Untill then you can use Amythest flasks.

You can also trade for some chaos res rings as they can have implicit chaos res + another chaos res roll to get you by untill you can find solid chaos res on your other gear slots.

Amethyst flasks eh? I always bypass any non health/mana flask, guess that would be the best short term option, since it's only the enemies that use chaos that nail me.

Thanks!

Utility flasks are a great way to improve your defenses. E.g. an armour-flasks with added increased armour and some quality (increases duration) can greatly increase your survivability. Like elemental resistance flasks help against reflect as well by increasing your max resist...

I'm not saying you should go full utility, but 1 or 2 can be a great way to play. Like a quicksilver is great for fleeing or advancing. that one should be standard for like half of the builds ;)

Plus: You usually pop them before/at the start of a fight (+armour is something you want at the beginning of the fight), meaning they refill as you fight. HP-potions have a tendency to be popped when you've already eliminated half of the enemies, so you don't recharge them from those enemies, whereas the others have charges to be refilled at that moment. You could possibly do something similar with hp-pots, but it relies on you being injured at the start of a fight^^

You know, usually to avoid the "chaos resistance" problem I use leap and just bounce around the battlefield and kill things leap-by-leap. Seems I can usually avoid the projectiles. I mean, my armor itself is pretty good. I have 14,000 armor, even before I apply any buffs, so I'm good when it comes to sitting toe to toe and taking melee damage...but Chaos? No.

I'm actually grinding in the Battlefield are aof Act 3 where all the Blackguards are because no one there can even so much as scratch me and the XP is good. I've been spending every level up on health boosts to give me more of a fighting chance against the chaos attacks.

All the other folks I play with gave up due to the difficulty back when we made it into Act 1 of Merciless, but I stayed and solo'ed the rest. I'm just that determined :)
