The shiny, sparkling, glowing and animated items look somewhat part of the world and I suggested it why not have them like end game loot.
While instead for microtransactions have something that does stand out and doesn't belong in the game world/lore. Like a lightsaber, mario hat, other game outfits like a giant furry outfit stuff like that which you can tell it's cash shop only item.
What about my idea and suggestion?
the early I mentioned stuff like lightsaber skins or maybe a purple pimp hat, something that wouldn't make sense within path of exile world and can be clearly see that it is a cosmetic item from a shop. Like massive clown balloon with string in your hand or something like that.
This is the monetization method GGG uses, to intentionally make free players look a bit goofy most of the time with simplistic and mismatched armor pieces, while people who spend money on the shop have much more impressive and powerful looking gear. Then they make you mingle with them in town hubs so you can see how much better your character could look after spending a few hundred dollars on the game.
Yea that's kinda my issue, those items and gear should be lootable.
And make stuff that really stand out a game shop item. Like a long balloon for staffs, lightsabers for swords, anime girl skirt maid outfit for witch and so on. Something that you could tell is from a shop and not some cool as item which you can never get and it does look like something you should be able to loot in the end game.
Unlike for example oversized tophat or space helmet.
and i think its really easy to tell whats microtransaction after a couple hundred hours in the game, most item look really plain and simple afterall
but the game does give away a lot of stuff, free lootbox here and there, twitch drops, and league rewards, especially this and the last one(and hopefully the future ones)
i personally dont think theres a reason to buy any mtx(apart from supporting the devs obviously) other than stash tabs, most people dont really care, and you wont really look at it during gameplay (not that you can with all that clutter anyway)
Anything that looks like an uniform full cool looking set with animations and effects are usually premium cosmetics with only a few exceptions. This is what makes the blood (money) flow in this game. For example, if you want your character to look in a specific way, but also uses the best items with the best stats, premium cosmetic it is then.
Anything that looks basic or uncoordinated is usually just a mix of unique items that might look cool in a specific mix, but that usually involves not aiming at combat in end-game content.
The exception are usually around the visual effect generated by particular skills like aura, herald, Elemental Armors, etc. that generate an effect on your character's body or weapon. Those are generally mild in comparison to the premium effects.
The League Challenge Rewards can be found on the news page on PoE website.
For the current league (Sentinels), the rewards is in this video :

I also personally like how a lot of the actual equipment looks in PoE? - we're for a big part of the game stranded in Wraeclast and find armor to somehow get by. It makes sense that it looks the way it does ... and the EQ for the most part does get visually better in higher levels.
