1/10 because you don't actually add anything new.
Dude, noone forces you to buy cosmetics, they are totally optional and are just used to look cool in town mostly. If youi realy want cosmetics, supporter packs are quite fairly priced since they give you also enough points to buy tabs or whatever else you fancy.
They don't have to change prices on your behalf, find them too expensive? Just don't buy them, problem solved really.
Find them too expensive? Just don't buy them, this is that easy. I know I don't.
Well, not quite. Actually, they make their money with stash tabs. And selling stash tabs means they need to 'nerf' the interface of the game to make people want to buy stash tabs.
Why would you need stash tabs? To trade.
Why would you need to trade? Because the drop rates for loot in this game are so atrocious, most people would rather trade than try and actually find the items they need to play the game. It's just easier to trade, and trade is easier when you have stash tabs.
You're right, the cosmetics are expensive, but you don't 'need' cosmetics. I wonder, however, if they ever thought about the fact that more people would buy cosmetics, if cosmetics were cheaper.
I bought cosmetics in GW2 when I played it - but they weren't anywhere near as expensive as PoE. I spent maybe $200 total on GW2 and got quite a bit for it. Probably would have spent more too, but the game got stale and repetitive.
PoE isn't even an mmo, like how much chance do you even get to 'show off' your cosmetic items to other players in an arpg?
PoE is geared towards whales and whales only. It is the top 10% of players who spend the most money. This is a known fact. The rest of us don't come anywhere close to spending as much money as the whales do.
There's a twist to this, though. The whales need all the other players around, else there's no one to show off to. Without the rest of us, the whales end up migrating to a different game and spend their money there.
So, a game has to attract the non-whales in order to keep the whales around, but how do they do that when what the whales want and what everyone else wants come into conflict?
Usually through deceitful marketing practices. They make you think that you can progress and get somewhere in the game, when in truth it is only the whales that can. Eventually, you figure this out and you leave, but as long as their marketing team can keep enough new players filtering in to satisfy the whales vanity to show off how much money they spent in a game, they can keep it afloat for a while - at least, until the entire thing comes crashing down and everyone abandons the game for something else.
This is the foundation of all mobile games. And it's also the foundation of PoE. They don't really care about 90% of the playerbase who spend virtually nothing on their game, the great unwashed masses who are actually attempting to play this game as if it's free. They care about the whales. But the whales care about everyone else, so when the whales start wandering off, you'll see GGG change their tune.
Another reason why you have no business complaining as much as you do about this game, you're not even a customer, just a free;pader thazt spent over 800hrs on it.
All the rest of your post is irrelevant aftyer that really.
Important question..
What games do you play, that are free, that you didn't give any money to, that you complain too, either in the past or right now?
Might want to delete your posts on those forums, since according to you, your free opinion is worthless as dirt...
Still, I mostly don't use fancy cosmetic aside from footprint for my friend travel together, and portal effect
None, every free to play I spent 50+ hours in I spent money on, doesn't have to be 1000s either I might have spent 200USD on PoE for example in 3000+ hours.
I find totally normal to reward devs if I do spend time playing their games, same as I don't pirate games and buy them on Steam instead.
You do you tho.
I mean, none of that has anything to do with thinking that something is way too expensive... but alright.
You probably have friends and family that play free games and don't pay if it's not good and complain, as is their right.
I can't even imagine how badly you'd beat them down psychologically, how'd they feel having a friend call their opinion worthless, all because they didn't spend a dollar to validate their opinion.
Just make sure... not to ever provide an opinion on a f2p until you spent at least $1 on the game, because you know... your opinion is completely worthless before then.
