Login in without steam

hey fellas, quick question - since steam loses connections on about a 5miuntes cycle in the parts of australia i am in atm I am wondering how I could log into PoE without steam whilst still accessing the same account. Got few characters I am trying to get finished but with every death costing me 10% xp and dieing to dcs its getting impossible.
Now i THINK it is steam thats the issue and not PoE that messes with my connection althought ppl seemed to have different opinions on this

yea but if i download the game from the website whats my login for that? guess ill contact the support fellas

any idea if support works weekends or am i sure not to be playin poe this weekend?

I doubt that changing the client will work tbh, steam uses the same servers as the standalone, all steam dose is login authentication, past that everything is the same (same route to the server so if there is a problem somewhere it'll be the same problem)

But if you want to use the stand alone client you will need to email support [e-mail]
They will ask you some security questions and ask for an email address to link to the account, from there you can set a password and then it's just a case of downloading the standalone client and logging in.

FYI you can use both after that, if there is something that you need on steam (like access to your steam wallet for mtx)

And support usualy has someone on over the weekend but most of them are off, it's not a major problem and they are usualy quite quick to get to you.
