Boots with socketed gems/fortify

If i had boots with "socketed gems are supported by fortify" and i socketed flame dash or phase run would i gain fortify every time i used one of those skills?

Of course not.

Fortify Support states:

Supports melee attack skills that are not triggered.

Neither Flame Dash nor Phase Run are "Melee Attack Skills".

I was kind of hoping the support gem would be different to the support mod found on boots but judging by your reply i guess not

why would it be different than linking a fortify gem to flame dash or phase run?

I dont know more hope than anything i suppose,just trying to squeeze more defense out of what im doing and trying to crow bar fortify in.

Just pop a leap slam in there instead of the flame dash and call it a day.
