With freeze you either flask it off or get immunity to freeze on your gear/passives. In the current patch you can have your flasks auto unfreeze you without having to press any buttons.
Melee is fine it's more of a learn to play
There is even a new flasks against stuns now, saw that in act 7 as a reward.
Or just get a suffix on any flask to lower MS stun duration.
There is some stuff on the skill tree as well with a few points of investment, unwavering stance is the go-to node for any melee on the left side of the tree, else there is broken dodge on the right, or just blind for 50% evade.
Stun Support is a godsend imo.
Any high dps or high burst works with it. Unless of course there is a global CD on stun-locking mobs.
Do keep in mind that stun chance is based on the damage taken compared to maximum hp. As such, you might want to get something like Valyrium if you've got an ES character to make your stun based on ES instead. That should bump you out of range of most normal critters stunning you.
As mentioned above, there's a key node and a potion that can also prevent it, while peeps like Slayers can just get immune while leeching.
It's pretty much mandatory. I have never used any other major god pantheon.
