steam > setting > downloads > steam lib folders

#1 add a new folder on your SSD
#2 right click the game in your library > property
#3 in the local files tab > move install folder
#4 let steam handle the rest
#5 voila! :steamhappy:

Ta :D I threw a verify on top once it was done.

PS - Yeah I'm lazy and could've looked this one up myself. :)

Cut (Ctrl+X) the game folder
(example: C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Path of Exile)

Paste (Ctrl+V) in SSD
(example: F:\Path of Exile)

Open CMD and type: mklink /j [old path] [new path]

(example: mklink /j "C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Path of Exile" "F:\Path of Exile")

I am trying to move a game isntallation as well, my 100GB of EOS. Alas, I do not have a "Move Install Folder" in that particular window. Is that a limitation of the game? Or the combination of game and OS? My DOTA 2 install _does_ have that button. (On MacOS 10.13)

Sad, because that large EOS folder I'd prefer to exist on an external drive.

I had this same situation initally Stingworm. I'd forgotten to tell Steam that I had a new folder.

Have you remembered step #2 from Grumpy?

Use my method that I described above. It works and bypass steam restrictions.

Easy https://www.howtogeek.com/297721/how-to-create-and-use-symbolic-links-aka-symlinks-on-a-mac/

Nice!

Thanks! I might try the symbolic link, yeah. Not running out of space on my SSD yet, but seems like a bit of a waste if an external HD has ample space.
