Farming Beasts
I'm trying to farm menagerie beasts and I was wondering if there are any specific zones in acts that will/will not spawn beasts for the menagerie or some that are more/less likely to spawn them? Or are the beasts just as likely to appear in any zone once you've encountered the first ones in act 2?

Nope, they are literally random. You can monsters that never normally appear in the zone be hunted.

The Einhar quests are random just like the other league mechanics once you unlock them.

In that case, would really small areas be the best areas in acts to farm for beasts? The smaller an area is, the faster you would be able to get through it, the faster you can have it checked for beasts, the faster you can respawn it to check again... And if each area has the same chance of spawning beasts, the main thing that would affect rates of encountering beasts is how quickly you can check the area, kill the beasts (if there are any) and respawn the area... So an area like the southern forest in act 2 would be perfect for this given it is small and fairly linear... Right? or am I misunderstanding something?

At this point, I have very few beasts and I'm just looking at increasing my count of beasts so I'm not looking for any specific beasts... Just looking to maximize the rate at wich I find beasts in general.

Certain mobs will unlock at certain monsterlevels.

You won't find a Farric Taurus (for a unique map via blood altar) before monsterlevel 40, or a Craicic Chimeral (for the imprint) before monsterlevel 68, or a Farric Tiger Alpha (for a portal to Farruls Den) before monsterlevel 80.

With the larger pools of available monsters in higher tiers, it's more likely to get the lower tier ones in lower areas, as the pool to draw from (it's a weighted pool) isn't as large there.

Although to make a profit, you'll want to have the profitable ones unlocked, which means doing T13 or higher only.

There is literally no plan to farm Einhar outside of Map Dailies and the Scarabs. You could have argued it in the league it came out in. But every area has a chance to spawn a previous league mechanic once you have unlocked it. So you're competing with other mechanics to spawn. What you're planning isn't possible, you will just have to keep doing every area that has Einhar, and like the previous poster said, certain mobs only unlock on maps after a certain map lvl.

So, just to clarify and let people better understand where I'm coming from with this question, I'm new to the game, I am still working on the campaign (which I have not yet completed, I'm just in act 3) and I wasn't playing when the league that this content came in was active. :steamsad:

I haven't unlocked most of the other league mechanics yet. TBH I'm not sure what all the league mechanics were but I don't think I have any others which would compete with Einhar... The only other special mechanics that I can think of which I have unlocked would be prophecies and hideouts... With that in mind, I don't think there would be anything else competing with this mechanic yet so, based on what was said above, I think this might actually be the BEST time for a new player like me to try doing this... I was just trying to get a better understanding of the mechanic so that I could work with it better. What I'm trying to do does seem very possible, since I was actually just planning on repeatedly doing areas where Einhar (and beasts) might spawn... I understand that that, if trying to get a specific beast, doing the lowest level of area where that beast can spawn gives you the best chance at getting that beast but otherwise there are no areas with a higher or lower chance of spawning Einhar and that's what I was asking for.

Based on the combined info from the above posts, along with some extra research that I continued doing on the subject, (was able to find which rare beasts start spawning on maps of which level so I can now figure out the pool size that I'm working with) I'm pretty sure I have the information I was looking for. Thanks to both DaTank and The_Driver for responding. :2017catheart: Unless you can see something that I have specifically misunderstood, This question can be considered as answered.

You'll probably get better results with his quests and mapping, talk to him at the hideout once the atlas unlocks.

Still going to be a random selection of captures but at least you can be sure to find them

He wants to farm Einhar at a low level.

This is why no one understands what you're trying to do, it doesn't make sense to farm Einhar on low lvls.

Suppose they could keep levelling a fresh character and farming his tutorial mission.
