Terrible performance on RTX 2060
I just reinstalled this game on my new laptop, but for some reason it's running worse with it's new RTX 2060 than on my old computer that had a 960. I tried cranking every graphical setting as low as possible and set power setting to high performance in Windows, but the framerate struggles a lot even in the tutorial area.

I can run Doom 2016 and Destiny at VERY high setting flawlessly so what am I missing to make Path of Exile run smoothly?

If it's a laptop, the game is probably not using your nVidia GPU. Right-click on the desktop, open nVidia control panel, then Manage 3D Settings, and you should see 2 tabs, one called Global Settings and another called Program Settings. Go to Program Settings and scroll through the list until you find PoE (or click on Add, and add the game .exe from where you installed the game), and you should see an option to force the game to use always the nVidia GPU. Also, you should be able to right-click the executable and select to run it using the main GPU, but you always have to do this everytime you want to play.

dont sweat it, i cant maintain 60 fps on a 2080ti with a 7700k i7 backing it.

its jsut game engine optimizations. something we might see change in 2.0 but im not holding my breath, i imagine whatever they fix will sprout new issues.

Keyword, laptop. Google about how to force the use of nvidia dedicated chip over your intel igpu.

Once you know, it'll resolve most performance issue for some other games that nvidia software don't switch properly...

Very strange--I am running a I7 6850k (more cores but slower clock speed than a 7700k) and a Titan X (Pascal) video card (roughly equivalent to a 1080Ti) and 32 GB of RAM and game runs smoothly at 144+ fps at 1440p resolution. May be a good idea to look at system temperatures (CPU, GPU) when playing to see if something is running hot and causing the CPU or GPU to throttle down?

Check your system, you got an issue.

My pc is worse than yours and I maintain 80 fps at 1440P

I7 6700K
EVGA GTX 1080ti
Install on SSD
16GB ddr4
