Yep trade scaming is pretty much par of the course in PoE, just double check the item(s) in trade chat before accepting.

always check the trade, and sometimes scammer do get banned, but they use alt accounts and VPN to trade anyways, and usually they either drop the items on ground while partied with others or put them in guild stash so it wont matter if their account gets banned or not.

Trade would really profit from an automated ingame auction house. Seller puts up their item for a specific price, buyer clicks on buy, item and currency are swapped automatically. Would eliminate scammers and those fking no-responders easily.
But GGG made it clear it won't be happening, so just be very careful at trading right now.

I think noone is getting triggered by auction house suggestion anymore since it never gonna happen.

Second it's not even a suggestion. It's a fact that the best thing for trading in poe would be an auctionhouse. Btw best for trading in poe =/= best for poe.

Auction house exist in consoles and Chinese version of PoE, so I am not sure, how auction house didnt, happen argument came here.

Console version of this game have no auction house, the chinese version is P2W so what is your point?

The current system forces player interaction which, believe it or not, is a good thing and intended by the devs.

Anyway there is no discussion to have here, GGG said time and again that AH will never make it in PoE.

its already in the game so i dont see the point? its same thing, you just list items on trade and people buy it, just some people list items and they may not reply or there are room for scams and delay on acquiring said items.

anyways, its easier to scam people if there are room for human error, i guess in that aspect automated trades are better.

Now I have not gotten scammed and i am very careful with trades (there were times i was close to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up the trade though due to not enough sleep and etc.)

But yeah with non-automated trades there are also ways to price fix and flipping currencies, snipe shotting items make you more rich than farming contents. but that is the consequences of free trade.

An auction house removes player interactions and while you may see that as an incovenience a lot of people, including the devs, see that as the way it should be.

What you see as consequeneces of the free trade system I see as advantages of a free trade system. If some people enjoy flipping items all day good on them. These riches they accumulate will be lost at the end of the league same as the ones you got from drops anyway. The most expensive mirror worthy items are usually not gained through flipping items but obtained as drops.

There currently is nothing close to an auction house in the game, what you see is a free trade system built and managed by the community/players.

An AH removes all player interaction and responsibility. With the current system you can negotiate if you want to, with an AH there is no negotiation unless you see an item and then messaging the seller which you are now making the Auction House redundant when you could have just had player interaction from the beginning.

There is a reason why it doesn’t exist and why the devs don’t want it in the game. If you don’t like the reasons that is fine.
