Is it too late to start a League or just play standard?
Been a while since I played POE so was wondering where to start.

Would it be too late to start a new league? also are leagues worth it? I usually just play standard but I have so much catching up to do

I wanted to start with this build is it budget friendly?

Leagues have whatever the new mechanic is, and all League characters (and stash tabs) get migrated to Standard at the end anyway.

If you want something budget friendly I'd suggest looking at Enki's Arc Witch: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1147951

Further, I'd suggest looking at the Class/Builds section of the forum. Look for "Budget" "Beginner" "League Starter" or "SSF" any build with one of those tags is likely to be inexpensive to set up. There's generally a few for every base class.

I started the new league after Christmas. I think it's worth it. Just finished Act 10 last night.

I would say start whenever but preferably before there is 1 month left on the league. That should give you time to do most if not all the content and challenges.

^ ur the man

My only issue with POE is it gets so boring at end game because you have to play solo doing maps compared to other games like D3 where you play with other players

Why do you feel you have to play solo for maps? You get more item find by playing with other people. I just play with my friend but you could find partners in chat. Sure the matching system isnt as user friendly as diablo but you can still play in groups when you reach maps.

You are only playing solo because you choose to... as he said...there is no other reason as you can group up in PoE just the same as Diablo and even get better rewards the more people in your group.

Is there a match making for POE to play end game maps?

I used to try looking for people in general chat but never found anyone except that one time after like a month. Which is why I ended up playing Solo, which kinda sucks

Maybe I have to get T12 maps and up to play with other people?

is it map dependent on if people would want to spend their time playing with you? the thing is in D3 you can just hit match making

The board is the ingame way of leaving requests for grouping up but most people just join a guild or discord community or make friends to group up with people they know or at least not completely random strangers.

D3 does have the matchmaking but its basically just one step faster to grouping up with randoms.

I would honestly just find yourself a large discord gaming community and find people through there. Or try to make friends ingame and group up with them.

Fair warning , people will group with you based on your own characters ability to clear content. So don't expect people to group with you if you aren't prepared for the content you are trying to clear.

^ ok thanks will try, sounds incredibly daunting just to match make with people but hopefully POE 2 will have some form of match making system

Grouping with randos tends to be a losing proposition anyways. Either they're way overgeared for what you're doing and you're just chasing them the whole time or they're way undergeared and then you have to carry them the entire time. That is my experience 95% of the time playing D3. Here I only group up with friends because people can't just randomly pop into your game like in D3.

Plus grouping with randos is worse in PoE because nothing is player locked like it is in D3. So people are way more likely to try to screw you and take as much of everything as possible.

Correct in all except two things.

Its much more fun to play in groups with friends when you know what you are running is viable for both of you.

And also you can set loot to permanent allocation as well.
