Game crashes when I try to switch to vulkan

Every time I try to switch to the vulkan renderer the game just automatically crashes.
It freezes for 5 seconds and it crashes.
Any tips are appreciated on how to turn on vulkan.

There's a known issue:

You might be able to start the game in Vulkan mode by editing the config though:
%homedrive%%homepath%\Documents\My Games\Path of Exile\production_Config.ini
edit the line starting with
renderer_type=
to read
renderer_type=Vulkan
save.

Of course the game should be closed before editing the file. No backup, no sympathy. Game might crash on startup after this, so be sure to know how to roll back.

Some Vulkan related crashes can be avoided by updating your graphics driver.

I have tried to change the config file, it doesn't crash ,just changes back to directx after i open the game I had already updated the driver (Intel hd 520) .

EDIT: I decided to check some things because Vulkan was working fine on another computer. Noticed it somehow decided to run on integrated graphics when I was switching monitors. Had to force it to use my graphics card. Never was an issue before.
