OR you have next to no resists, or primary defence or life/ES, you can cleam maps with a 4 link btw...not having a 6 link isn't an excuse.
You dont need 6 socket chest item, it seems that you need every item new :)
I played a freezing pulse witch myself to level 66 at the last leage and i could do map level 4 without any problems....
There are a few things that can help you:
Dont cast at mobs that reflect magic. This will kill you.
Have over 5k ES or Health or ES + Health. Period. Every damage that you do is not worth it if you die.
Always move, you are no stalward steel juggernaut that laugh about the tiny monster damage. If more then two or three monsters reach you at melee range you play the freezing pulse witch wrong, Cast a few skeletions if you have problems with going away.
Later if you have good items and a lot of crit chance you can almost freeze lock any normal and blue enemies.
fire resist 14%
cold resist 5%
lightning resist 64%
chaos resist -33%
life 1.466
es (without aura) 2.454
yes i am trying to get crit chance but i have to sacrifice so much protection for that
also how am i supposed to kill mobs without casting?
what items do u think i need?
i did take elementalist
and yes i have paragon of calamity
get endurance charge generation and autocast immortal cry setup.
possibly get some armor.
your life pool is downright terrible and your es is no better.
You dont simply just "get" a 600es regalia and 150 es gloves while maxing your resists.
One might call it foolish to play es possibly ci with a first character in ssf especially when youre not that experienced.
But yes main thing is, as long as you deal enough dmg ( if not look at the links of our freeze pulse ), you gotta 1. pump those ress up, those are rooky numbers ( but dont focus on chaos too much as not many enemies deal chaos dmg, just take into account that vs them you only have your life pool ). And after that maybe at the same time, try to get a little bit more life/es, but its actually not that important for getting to act 4.
I play always solo self found, never bought anything and getting elemental resists between 60 and 70 is no real problem.
Only chaos resist is solo self found a problem, there is a lot of luck involved.
But the game is only about finding better gear and farming a few hours or even days untill you find a few elemental resist items and then making progress and killing bosses is the same as later at engame at which you only progress higher maps after you have gain a level and the -xp penality is not so harsh or after you found a few more good items that made you stronger.
But he has done this a lot if he is level 73 at act 3. He farmed a lot. But he is either a real unlucky person or he has sold all elemental resist gear because he thought that it is not important.
Edit: Buy a few rings and a amulet with resists, changing them will not reduce your damage or other stats extremly (i doubt that you have real good rings or amulet yet) but you will see that even 40 or 50 resist will help you a lot to stay alive.
