Orb of Fusing chances

At first I wanted a 6L on my unique body armour, but that seems unrealistic now that I understand jeweller's orb RNG. I think I'm going to try for a 5L now.

With Vorici at level 5, I could craft a 5 socket on it with 70 jeweller's orbs. That looks like a better deal than trying it myself with individual orbs.

I can't find any data on orb of fusing RNG though. It costs 150 orb of fusing to link 5 sockets with Vorici. Is this a better or worse deal than doing it myself?

That's a lot of orbs. Where's the best place to farm them?

If you put quality on an item it doubles the chance of it socketing/linking. As for the chances, nobody knows really. But from my experience expect to spend about 100 fus for a 5l and 1000 for a 6l and 200 jeweller for a 6s and it's not worth only 5 socketing items because if you 6s them they have 2 ways of 5 linking which makes the overall cost MUCH lower.

In terms of how best to farm fusings, there isn't a good way. The best way of making money in the game for beginners is actaully just to map quickly. I know other ways of making money but that's because i've played alot of PoE and understand the markets somewhat. If you would like to try something other than mapping i would suggest essence crafting opal rings. If you don't know what that means/is then you likely won't make money from it.

P.S Vorici after level 6 will sell you 20 fusings each day for 64 jewller orbs, much cheaper than buying them from other players or even trading at a vendor.

If you want to 5L, then better buy a Jeweller's Touch for like 25c, it's cheaper than fusing via Vorici, or by yourself (unless you're darn lucky).

the prices are based on an average cost to get those sockets/links plus a little extra for it being guarenteed.

You could do it yourself but you could end up spending double or more of the masters price, or you could get it in 1

Better you pay the price from Vorici.
Range will kill you. I have made a 6 link chest socket with my first char with only a little more then 80 fuses (i think 82, but this was a lot years back).
Later for my other chars i have loose more then 5.000 fuses but without luck (that was before the masters were at the game).
After masters i always collect the fuses and pay the price.
Much cheaper.

just get tabula rasa first then think about 6 linking items like belly of the beast, lightning coil.

I would use vorici most of times as I hate risks.

Average amount of fusings for a 6l is 1500. Conveniently, thats how much Vorici charges. However, every 1% quality increases chance for 6l by 1%. At 20% quality, average amount to 6l drops to 1200. Fuse yourself if you want to gamble, Vorici if you want to play it safe. Be aware that you could spend anywhere from 1 fusing to 5000 trying to 6l. So your choice.

What people are saying here about vorici's chance being 1500 because that's the chance of fusings USED to be true, but now that quality stays with items through socket changes (you can use blacksmith whetstones to make it 20 quality then jeweller it and the 20q wont disappear like it did before 2.0). This means that it is now ON AVERAGE cheaper to manually link and fuse. However advice offered earlier by someone is really good, if you are only after a 5l definitely buy a jeweller's touch prophecy. It is most assuredly cheaper on average.

thats RNG but in average ull get it faster than 1500 like my guild member has made multiple 6Ls and sold them for exs. Its great way to make currency but if u dont like to gamble its best to go with vorici.
