Can't pickup items !!!

Just installed the game and after character selection I'm getting stuck in the tutorial. It says "Left-click to pick up items" but nothing happens when I left click on the weapons. Moving is working fine with left click. Plz help

is the name of the item showing up? You click on that not the weapon. Try to make sure item names are on by pushing the Alt key a few times.

yes the name is up there and I clicked on it many times but still nothing happens !!

press Z to reset the item drop views and also check your game options, can try the F key for a keypress item pickup.

Nothing happens,I even tried changing the F key to another key but still didn't work. made new character and started another new game but still it doesn't work...wth

alt- click or just uncheck the key pickup?

Otherwise it's a malware issue that mess your inputs, e.g keyloggers and such...

Sounds like you have the option set to only be able to loot items if you're holding the item highlight key or have it bound (key pickup).

Once you get more familiar with the game, I would advise turning this option back on. That way, you aren't randomly looting items while you're on the move.

Also, if this doesn't fix your issue, can you tell me if the item is highlighting when you hover your cursor over the nameplate for it?

yeah not sure what the guy above is talking about "it lets you pick up the item if you're holding it." oh, you mean like the div card I'm farming that I was double checking to see if my changes in the item filter had ACTUALLY worked, had three of them. even dropped a scroll of wisdom, definitely had lots of those. still couldn't pick up. why would there be an option to stop you from picking up items, and worse off why does it turn itself on?

It doesn't turn itself on. This option exists because there gets to be a point where there is so much loot on the ground, you'll accidentally pick things up just trying to move your character if you don't have a strict loot filter activated.

There is an option you have to select to allow you to hold a key to be able to loot items. You can pick what key to hold to allow you to interact with items on the floor.

By default, all of these settings are off and you can pick up items as you click them without needing to hold a key.

Your problem is that you pressed 'Z' and hid your loot filter. That's an entirely different option in itself.

EDIT: I will add: the option to hold a key to loot is a great feature. Mine is set to ALT. I can see loot on the ground, but when I hover over it, nothing happens. I can click through the loot and move over it, but once I hold ALT, I can then pick items up. I never have random pieces of gear in my inventory because I accidentally picked them up while trying to dodge a volatile flameblood.

These are advanced tricks that you should only use once you fully understand the game.
