Where should I farm uniques or whats the best way to get them.
Hi. I just started this game and I love it. Love the passive tree, build diversity, etc. But one day I was just scrolling through builds for the game on youtube and they all have these uniques that I have no idea how to get. Do they have specific drops or can multiple enemies drop them.

Unique items are dropped randomly, but as you go up in map tiers (End game, basically), you get a better chance of an unique at that item level. Map tiers each have an level of enemies, which causes the loot to be that item level. Example: a map with lvl 78 mobs, will end up dropping items in that item level range, and if a unique drops, will be that range aswell. I think.

You should wiki the uniques if you want them (A lot of good uniques only drop under a specific condition) or use poe.trade to trade with someone that has it

Not quite, some bosses have thier own pool like atziri

But almost all of them are random only thing that would prevent an item from dropping is the areas level(because of item levels)

So kill stuff, lots of stuff and if you can manage it get IIR to aid in farming

Call me crazy, but I think mixing up your play time helps with unique drops. Maps, labyrinth, go back to twilight strand for 3 runs, go to docks, back to the library... Might just be a way to kill time, but I'm raking in 1alc uniques

There are also items which affect item rarity/quantity. Wearing such gear while farming in appropriate level zones is supposed to increase drop rates.

Use poe.trade website and search for rarity and/or quantity under the mods section.

if you want a specific item you can also check the wiki if it is set as a divinity card set reward, and farm for that set (each card set only drops in a specific area)

I'd work your way through all the difficulties before you worry about farming uniques. Once the main game is complete and you begin mapping then I'd focus on doing well at a map. Once you're confident in damage and survivalbility I'd get some rarity to your gear and farm some maps to amass some level of currency and further your ambition. Rarity effects items while when opening strongboxes and so forth quantity is better in my opinion.

Thanks for the feedback!

You can some what increase your chances of getting certain items by farming them in a certain map/area because then the pool of unique drops will be lower.

Other than that, high mob density maps with magic % or rare % mob size. And high IIR/IIQ. And quick clear speeds ofc.
