Help me understand MoM & EB please.

So I am following a league starter build, and I assume that 30% of the damage taken is redirected to energy shield protecting the mana pool. Is this correct?

The reason I am not sure is that when I just stand there and take damage only my life pool goes down but not the ES over the mana. I mean it doesn't even budge a little.

So I am not sure if its working as intended to make me more tanky while providing mana.

Did you test it on low level enemies? I'm using MoM & EB too as an Inquisitor, and I can confirm that it works without any problems. Maybe your ES regen is too high for the enemies you tested it on?

how much Energy shield do you have?

yes, if you take MoM and Eldritch battery, your Energy will protect your mana, you will use Energy shield to cast spells, and Hits will take 70% from Life, 30% from Energy shield protecting mana.

however, if your ES pool is not enough to absorb the 30% of the damage, it goes directly to Life. No Partial conversion, it's either all or nothing.

Also, remember, Chaos damage bypasses Energy shield, on Life or mana, so and Chaos damage would still go straight to Life.
