Be wary of pathofexile.trade. People are price fixing the market.
For example, if i want to buy an exalted orb for chaos orbs, one guy has it posted for 120 chaos orb. But if i want to sell 1 exalted orb, one guy has it posted for 190 chaos orbs. Neither of these people will respond to trying to buy. Especially considering that at the time of this post, 1 exalt is worth around 175 chaos orbs. Look carefully, dont jsut assume that if ur using trade macro, that is actually correct.

Players can't 'price fix'. The only way to fix prices is to be able to use violence to stop other people from setting their own prices.

Actually they can.

I'm selling an item for 100 chaos
You sell it for 95 - I buy yourself and list it for 100 chaos.
Quite a few people do this for entire leagues (or permanently in standard) with specific items. This is nothing new, and is one of the downsides of the current trading system.
This however, is better than an auction house which would make everything worthless because of how trading bots work. It would be the exact same, (bot buys your item immediately instead of waiting to trade with you) but now if you're lower than the bot yours is bought immediately, if it's higher it never sells. (Edit) at least with the current yours that is higher can sell.

so many people say this yet its not true , most worthwhile items are pricefixed , most people with a good amount of maps , a map tab , are price fixing , most of them NEVER sell and this in turn ruins the market in EVERY leauge this happens , people putting up 10 seperate exalts all seperate different prices , all lower than should be by alot {current ex price is 180c} so anyone who has one up for 120 c is just trying to set the price muhc much lower in the hopes uneducated people like you find an ex and decide to sell it .. then they will buy it , at the much lower price , this is how many many many people are doing it , and thats just 1 item.
ways to fix

Reputation system
1 week to 3 day sale slots
removal of items 50 people have messaged for but still hasnt sold
the blocking of repeat offenders to 5 items or less
make maps only sellable in smaller amounts or just block the map tab and make people list them manually.
Also the person who owns poe trade doesnt seem to care less and changes nothing other than the ads , remember this when you need to buy soemthing and use the real trade website from ggg.

Yes, way easier to block people there. You now, in case you don't want to see them again for using a technique you consider unacceptable. Just gotta log in.

technique ..... xD they are literal scammers trying to abuse mechanics they should have vvery little access to , simply because the pages show in such a way some users are able to take the first 5 .. pages .. using nothing but one tab .. and then never sell anything , just set the prices low so he can buy low , its sad af really .The same people spamming SELL SELL SELL in global 1 are the same people with like 5 up for 120 c ...{exalts}

also thanks for the heads up about the login block function :P gonna give that a blast

People acting like currency means the world in Poe. It has honestly usefulness to each of them. But making it sound like it’s $$ lol. I blow through any currency I make and can be careless. I even sold a unnatural instinct or whatever it’s called for 2 ex lower then everyone else. Just to get some ex and try crafting.

If you think making currency while manipulating the market is fun. Well bless your soul. Since your simply playing the market and not the game.

It’s not like if you have 583859 exalts it will make you actually rich. It’s just stupid currency that gets reset every league.

I’m a person who doesn’t ever play outside of a league. I enjoy the loot hunt and playing different builds. Sitting there and trying to make the most currency isn’t fun. It’s just greed that gets you no where.

What if I told you a large portion of those whom control the PoE market have alt accounts with bots that they pool their currency into? Meaning that bot you just traded 15 ex with will eventually get to the owner who is currently 95 doing delves.

And just because you don't play standard doesn't mean the rest of us don't. Currency (worth real money or not is beside the point) is important to PoE, in a way it's the lifeblood. Without currency crafting cannot happen, and crafting is one of the many pasttimes of PoE.

I find it funny that people who list stuff with no intention of selling, just to lower or raise the price of an item, is in fact price fixing and market manipulation. Its hard to now what something is worth when so many people are market manipulating. Its just a dishonest way for the people with lots of currency to take advantage of people who either dont or people who dont put any effort to see what the current market value is. I always thought trade macro was a really good tool. The funny thing is, its only a good tool for market manipulators. Honestly, the best fix of this was said by one guy, if u get x amount of trade requests, and u ignore them, pull it off the market.
Bad Touch Feb 5, 2019 @ 1:13pm
Even a better approach, is someone is trying to drive the market down greatly and buy everything listed below or at their list price, post something at that price, invite them and waste their time. Even though, u r helping them drive the market down, but i think its worth it. I hate dishonesty and people who take advantage of newer players.

if this happens non-automated, so everyone can decide for themselves then it will fix nothing.
if this happens automated then it can cause great harm to non-price fixers.

imagine: you put something on sell, maybe its 10% cheaper because you wanna sell it fast. in combination to that the API is slow, which happend quite a lot this league. in addition to these 2 points, you also in a content type where you cant leave immediately (delve, lab, uber bosses). now you getting spammend for something, in the system pulls your item out of the system because you ignored the whispers.

not really a great solution.

this "solution" reminds me on the "always online" debatte several years ago which was intended to fight game piracy, in the end it only harmed the legit players.

Good point, dont know what the solution is. The idea behind this post was to alert players that almost everything is being manipulated in the market and before u buy or sell, dont always trust the high or the low on the market.

This is most likely how those twitch streamers progress so rapidly in the game, in addition to long play intervals. That, combined with vast inside knowledge of what is valued in the game allows for their progression over casuals. In the end it's just a currency grind, which gets reset as some posted. Look how far out of reach a head hunter belt is for a casual player. It is crazy that other players are vaaling head hunters. If I sound salty, it's because I am. I spent $60 on this game on the promise that with more tab space I could acquire the funds to make my build viable for end game content. That is totally not the case. The end game is designed for streamers with the great knowledge of the game.

you are aware that the big streamers, you are referring to, getting reported too if they would to obvious scamming?

moreover, a HH is not that far out of reach with low level delve farming, as example here. when I farmed in january I made around 3ex a day with couple of hours delve farming (1 quadstash without a zoom zoom build). at that time the HH was 50ex, so like 17days farming.

how does someone comes to this idea, that a simple stash tabs would bring you more currency? its like you buying yourself a fancy wallet and hoping to getting rich just because of owning this fancy wallet o.Ô

you know you can acquire that knowledge, too.
