POE sound effects apparently hurt performance/FPS

Anyone else see this thing about how the sound effects from POE gobble up performance/FPS.

Apparently, if you go into your "production_Config.ini" file and actually disable your sound effects processing you get a massive FPS boost.

Anybody know if GGG is aware of this? Sounds like somebody at GGG done messed up.

This just in: Computations require computational power. Disable certain computations to free up computational power for other computations.

It was a thing on reddit over 2 months ago. The devs do read reddit, so someone probably reddit, although whether they re-did the implementation for 3.10 is questionable.

So much meh, ya op it was on reddit awhile back.

I have a decent computer, using some graphic intense skill setups, self damaging 4 cwdt setup shenanigans for example, you do see improvement. Most skills you dont. And those using older computers can see all around improvement. Good tip for some, that missed it.

Edit. No idea if GGG has addressed this, check they patch notes when they are released.

I have disabled sounds in the launch options before, it makes no difference to my FPS.

You have to disable the sound options from the ini file, not the ingame options menu. It helped my friend gain 30+ fps. Whatever makes it playable. They should really fix this tho.

this game is unplayable unfinished and broken and we have to turn of all sound to make it work . so what you are all saying is that we have potato computers and should all get better pcs that is rubbish excuse . game makers should say it dont meet the minimum specs and therefore i cant play. this comp more then qualifies as meets the standard and has these issues so if they say only runs on $3000 + comp but if you spend anything less you will have sound issues so bad you cant cast a spell. its not my computer that is the issue it affects lots of people and you should not have to modify to play a game. they stuffed up making sound and should fix it. how many people quit thinking they cant make a game well or pissed off and blamed on lag and rage quit . dont blame our computers mine is still expensive and new and it will take it personally . game makers stuffed up you have no idea what we run here so its not a rubbish computer problem its a bad game maker. make a server for computers with min standards and a sever for high end users only and you will all still want to turn sound off to gain an edge and you will still have a broken game , if everyone that turned off sounds actually emailed or contacted game makers and told them its broken instead of waiting to see if they reddit it would be fixed by now . noone bothers to tell them they stuffed up they keep making broken games .
