Oni-Goroshi! Farming Twilight Strand

Hi guys
First, is it real deal or it’s just a Prank?!
I’m playing HC Standard
My 4 characters are around lvl 8
After lvl 7 just killing the Hillock
3 of them got a unique item so are they still getting the sword or I should delete them?
Should we kill that first guy?
Should we open the box or not?
Should we playing 8-10 hours straight or we can run it like 2-3 hours each day?

It is real.

It is a rare chance to spawn on Hillock, you would notice the sword stuck inside his body is quite different when he will drop it.

About a year ago they nerfed the drop rate for the sword significantly, so it may take quite a while to get it. You are going about farming it correctly, and even if other characters have gotten unique items any of them can still get the Oni-Goroshi. Frankly, unless you are playing SSF, you are better off trading for the sword rather than trying to farm it, given the low drop rate.

There is a very low chance for Hillock to spawn as "Uber Hillock". The sword on his chest is replaced with an Oni-Goroshi sword, which he will drop upon his death. I wouldn't recommend you to farm it unless you are playing in SSF or love to grind. It can take as long as 72 hours or so if you are unlucky. And normally people will create 3 - 4 characters to rotate the instance as it resets in between 1m30s - 1m45s.

Yes it's real. Yes, you can get OTHER uniques on the Twilight Strand. (Very low level ones usually, but they will still help you).

Regardless of what else does or does not drop for you, each character can acquire one Oni-Goroshi. The chance of Uber Hillock spawning goes up (very slightly) as you level. Most people will see him spawn somewhere after level 7, but before level 9. However, there are outliers, he can (very, very, VERY rarely) show up before level 7, and there are some people who haven't seen him before level 9.

The spawn rate of Uber Hillock is very low. The drop rate of the Oni-Goroshi from Uber Hillock is 100%.

I farmed up two during Metamorph. I think the first one took me about 130 kills, and the second about 150 kills.


(And yes, I do play SSF, having a 6L that scales with you as you level is a very strong incentive for SSF players).

Yeh not sure what ima do, I wanna do the new league but MHW IB is coming out with the safi update the same day as new patch. I'll have to split my time up.
