That doesn't mean it isn't there anymore though, this is clearly an issue that needs fixing.
I don't have issues playing the game, particularly, though it looks a LOT different on my potato laptop than it does on this desktop, but every time I start the game I have to log in 2-3 times, and often my inventory is still loading in. Every once in a while I get booted randomly right after logging in successfully (the third or fourth try) but this happens extremely rarely after I've gotten on and stabilized.
Everyone recommends the standalone client, so I'd really like to see Valve/PoE work together on this at some point, while it's not game-breaking, it's annoying and will definitely drive people away from both the game and the platform.
I have the same issues on the standalone, since the Synth league. Went from day to night, and hasn't been the same since. It's 100% a GGG issue. They need to start making the game workable for all types of machines.
The problem has been on GGGs end for about 3 years. It's a preloading error made during optimization that they have not corrected yet. All they need to do is allow the servers more time before timing out. They've added and changed so much of the game that it just takes longer to load now than originally. If your PC is fast enough to give the game everything it needs with a standard HDD then you wont see the error but on slightly older machines you are being kicked out because your machine is busy loading and not responding to the server. This is why a SSD fixes the problem because it shortens loading times dramatically. All you have to do is click log in again.
If you have this problem you'll probably also notice that when you log in the 2nd time and get in that a lot of your item graphics still haven't loaded as well as some hideout items. A minute or two later and everything is loaded and the game runs normally.
I get pretty irritated when fanbois defend companies when it's ONLY their game the has the issue. Do the math here. If PoE is the only game people are complaining about it's not THEIR issue it's a developer problem. People aren't going to go out and buy a new machine just because a company didn't optimize their game to run on standard equipment.
Anyway Idk why people are " restarting the game" you don't have to restart the whole game just click "log in" a second time. I always have to log in twice because I'm still on a standard HDD.
