What can i say , I live in a small town in India and we have only one isp which is BSNL (popular all over India). I used to get 80 ping back in the day but since last 2 months i am getting really high pings. I called up the technician but they said the internet is fine. He is partially right though because my net speed and download speeds are fine. Just the pings are not.

With indian servers i guess pings are fine but outside of india all servers are high pings. Sometimes pings go back to normal but that is rare occurence. Even if my pings are fine and there is a powercut and power comes back and i turn on the pc the pings are again high. I changed everything MY PC, Broadband Wire, Phone, modem . All of it but still my pings are just fished.

when you have high ping you should do a WinMTR test to see at which place the connection is bad (Your home, your ISP, GGG's side)

obviously its the ISP. I also have internet on my phone. I get 90 - 115 ping on Overwatch with my broadband on SEA servers when net is working fine. Other times it goes to 300+. But if I use my phone's internet at the same time instead of my broadband i get 135-140 pings in SEA server. The slight increase is understandable as my phone's internet is wifi and my broadband is wired.

I wish I was a tech guy and could tell them exactly where the problem is. The only noticable thing is the "green light" on my modem (which is the internet\ data transfer signal) sometimes takes a lot of time to come alive. Like 10 mins or so. Other times it takes a minute or so.

I tried to check my internet speeds on speedtest website. Ironically sometimes I would get my ISP's name and other times some other industry's name instead of my ISP on that website. I am sure the other industry is not even an Internet Provider.

well you can also have connection problems at your own home, with WLAN for example. also the speed test tells your jsut the speed and not the quality to the GGG server.

how can i have connection problems with 2 different pc and 2 different internet modems, wires, and phones.
I got rid of my old pc and assembled a new one to get rid of this issue but the issue persists. Even got a new windows 10.

I got 3 new modems all of them failed to change this problem.

I have played POE in the last 2 years. Never had any issue with pings I could even play on Frankford servers with pings around 100. Same as Singapore, sometimes even better than Singapore. The thing is when pings are good for one game, its good for all games. I have tested that theory.

But when ping is bad. All games have high pings. Its not just GGG.

I wonder could this be because of an overload of users in my area. When there are too many of them pings are high.

at 290ms you will be defaulted to predictive sync and with that much latency in predictive you will experience desync.

You can force lock step but there will be a delay doing anything

290 ms ping is most likely not playable. It is a hell of a pain, especially in the mine. You will often find yourself not quite where you intended to go because of the ping. And that is deadly in the mine. Outside the mine it is less fun than playing with a ping <150 ms but it is possible (except really technical bosses like Innocence, Kitava and some others; Random one hit deaths [it seems like that at least] are common due to lag at that ping as well).

there will be a delay, and for endgame bosses that is really bad because they are based around dodging their attacks (but if you play zerphis you will be fine even on 300ms)
