Cannot kill Malachai due to crashes. Constantly.

I tried to kill it more than 20 times, each time killing the 3 mini bosses. But after that everytime the game crashed on me. It always crashes at the second phase of the fight.

Did anybody experience this?

Yes I did. I can even party up with someone if it can help me overcome the quest.

How does the crash happen? Blue screen of death, "poe.exe has stopped working", freezing, blackscreen and then closing back to desktop? When it crashes for me I usually have bsod but none of the other behaviours that happen with some other games.

I have one char that I play that still has Malachai to kill. Well, guess I am gonna see how it goes when I arrive there.

try a party if that helps, do you have a other character to try if it crashes the game?

in the worst case, wait till february and write the tech support a mail. I had in incursion league a similar problem where only the HC of mine back then produced a crash but none other.

Can you explain step by step what happens when you get the crash?

Could I also ask what build and what skills you are using? There is a known crash with double strike and the malachai fight.

Thank you for the replies friends! Just saw them.

It is not a BSOD. The rig rarely reboots after the crash. It is a Nvidia problem I presume. With kernel notifications and display driver stopped/restarted types of errors.

I have a GeForce GTX 980 Ti for clarification. I recently installed Deus Ex HR and Just Cause 3 and couldn't play them both either. They both crash constantly. I couldn't even see the splash screen of Deus Ex Hr.

Didn't the gtx 980 latest driver have issues? or if not that one, one of the previous ones?
You should try updating your drivers tot he latest one, or if you already have the latest one and still crash, downgrading to a previous one.

You can just join a party and not enter the boss room. Fairly suer you'll get the kill credit as long as you're in the same instance.

Doesn't fix the problem for him though, if he crashes at malachai and is unable to launch deux ex and just cause 3, being able to get the kill confirmed for malachai isin't gonna be of any use, especially since he'll most likely crash again somewhere down the line.

if you still have problems try using 'ddu driver uninstaller' to scrub all old drivers out and clean install.

google it if youre not sure about it
