Expensive items still remain expensive, just scaled down to account for less existing currency.
On the small scale it sort of works out. I'll use a few chaos now and again because I have enough that it doesn't really hurt me, effectively eliminating some of the currency from the world. On the large scale you still have the issue that other games have. There's just too many exalted and chaos orbs in standard league. They have lost all meaning
But with all the items and currency accumulated through all these years in standard league, I expected items should be cheaper
Just looking at one example of this armor "Geofri's Sanctuary Elegant Ringmail"
https://www.pathofexile.com/trade/search/Delve/6M4pMdTG
Any 6 linked of it are selling for 3-4 ex in the new league, while it is listed for 8 ex (min) in Standard
I never played Standard league before, and am really sick of restarting new character over and over and over again without having chance to play some end game contents.
After doing some searches on the trading site, it made me think that items are really really hard to come by than the currency in Standard league, or some items are actually not in the drop list =(
I always have a thought that the chance of making a trade via offline PM is very slim. I don't know if I right or not though
I'd say players in standard league are probably almost not interested at all in trading.
They probably hog on a ton of resources and all have gear.
What's the point?
In Leagues everyone needs gear and therefore everyone needs currency in order to get their best in slots as fast as possible.
Standard though? No urgency, no interest, no demand.
Once characters leave Leagues, they ditch all their currency into standard.
