How long does it take to get a 6 socket weapon

[HEY]

Say I buy a weapon then now I want it to have 6 sockets with the right color sockets, how long/hard is it to get that, I am completely new to the game only level 47 right now. So I wont try to 6 socket it right now only once I am level 70 ish.

if you wanna do it yourself, its depends on your luck. but why you wanna have a 6 socket item? links are far more important. and if playing delve league, you get 6L items quite cheap because its so late in the league

it can take some jewellers orbs till u got 6s, wich doesnt guarantee a 6 link

if u wanna 6link a 6socket item it can take multiple hundred fusings, but u can be lucky and do it with the first one ^^

as far as i know the chance for 6link increases with higer item quality, so you should bring it to max quality before you try to 6l it

u can buy a guaranteed 6l "service" from vorici in your hideout if he is lvl 10 for 1500 fusings

i recommend to buy a 6linked with the right colors (except its a super-expensive one)

go to:
poe.trade

thats the main trading site and its pretty easy


first you search for the item you want by filling in everything you need (i.e. item name, number of sockets, number of links and colors you want)

then you hit search

then you get a list of items that match your search and the individual price the seller asks for
decide wich one you want to buy and klick on "whisper" on the item you choosed

go back into the game, hit enter to open and press CTRL + V to paste the premade text into the chat and hit enter to send the message
(it will automaticly whisper the seller with all the information needed)

then the seller will invite you, accept that

klick on the portrait top left and visit his hideout

wait for the seller to send you a trade offer, accept that

place the asked price (usually chaos orbs) in the trade window

check if its the right item, usually it is, but mistakes can happen

accept trade (seller will do aswell as soon as you place the asking price in trade window)

6s 5link items are fairly easy to get by crafting them. to get 6 sockets can take as little at 1 jewler.
try not to use vorici's table for sockets and links since you can get a 5 link pretty quickly just spamming fuses. But your best bet is to save up the chaos and buy the item socketed and linked how you want it, If you need 6slot with only 5 links just type in the item name on poe.trade then scroll down a bit and set the min and max links to 5.

using like a ngamahu axe or whispering ice staff?

its usually around 300 jewelers orbs to 6 socket something manually.

Yeah outright buying it does seem to be the best way, If I did that with all the right slots links and coulors, I looked it up aat poe.trade and its like 200ish chaos orbs.

Only one problem I have like 4 Chaos orbs, so I have no clue how long it would take me to get 200 chaosorbs.

One correction: Vorici needs to be level 7 for the 1500 Fusing 6L craft. He only needs to be max-level (Level 8) to do that craft on Corrupted items.

According to poe.trade Delve.5 blue 1 green is 50 chaos orb. Random 6 socket is 25 chaos orb. i would buy the 5 b 1 green with bargain.

Dont waste your time and materials with crafting.Just buy with currency it is always cheaper then crafting yourself.

That is a case of yes and no. Most of the time, if you are looking for specific stats it is better to buy it rather then crafting it.

However, socketing/fusing is a different story. That is all determined by colors. If you need large amounts of off-colors (3+), then it is well worth buying the item you want to fuse yourself (Typically a unique body-armor), then off-coloring it with Vorici-jewellers method, then fuse it up to a 5l with the Vorici 5L craft, then do whatever typical method you use for 6L-ing the item. It will be nearly impossible, or VERY expensive, to buy certain items with large amounts of off colors already 6-linked.

EDIT: For example, a build I am currently running uses a Perfect Form Zodiac Leather with 4 off colors (3 red, 1 blue, 2 green total. Green is main-color). A Perfect Form with those colors 6-linked is currently 4 exalted orbs on PoE-trade. And there is only 1 of them. I can find one 5-linked with the colors for a minimum of 50 chaos orbs. A Perfect Form by itself, that I can then Vorici-Color, then 5L myself with the Vorici 5L, with decent stats can be bought for a minimum of 10-15 chaos orbs. What I save in initial cost I might lose by getting unlucky with the socketing and fusing.

As another piece to this puzzle, 4 exalted orbs is approximately 1600 fusings right now. So I am basically spending an ENTIRE Vorici 6-socket craft, and then some, on the item. If I had the Exalted orbs to drop, this might be worth it if I needed the 6L immediately, but if I don't need the 6L (Which is VERY likely, many builds do not absolutely require a 6-Link to hit Red-Tier maps, and possibly Shaper/Red-Tier Elder) then it might be better to take the 10-15 chaos investment now, and then off-color it/fuse it myself as time goes on. This is only really considering if I need the item at this moment, if I didn't a Tabula Rasa is always an option, or using a 6L div-card and crafting a decent-stat chest myself, and then save the Ex to buy the item.

don't waste your money now , i play a very similar build with the same staff and it's lvl 62 required , same for the boot.
You can play with 4 socket and have enough damage , the most important thing are the jewel.
